USA Klipsch Synergy S2 or Polk FXI A6?

Looking for some solid surrounds to go with my Polk CS-2 & Monitor 60's connected to Marantz SR6003.

Do you think either of the these are good choices? Or would you recommend something else?

Thanks in advance

what are you fronts though? a number of us highly recommend something within the same details as the soundstage, and a great starting point would be with its manufacturer, and line so to speak.

So since I have a Polk CS2 Center and Polk 60 fronts, you would go with the Polk FXI A6?

I would go for the FXi A6s just to blend better with your front soundstage.

Only hearing both I can't imagine mixing Polk with Klipsch so the FXi A6's are a no brainer.

I uhh, also wanted to say that, but was afraid that some of the touchy Klipsch owners would surface and beat me with a wet noodle.

Being married, a wet noodle would be a nice change of pace.

I've heard the Klipsh with a Marantz receiver and they sounded great.

I'm a Klipsch owner (but not a touchy one I guess), and even I wouldn't recommend mixing Polk and Klipsch. If the OP's front stage is all Polk, IMO he should stick with Polk for his surrounds.

both speakers have different sound to em, apples and oranges so to speak. thus our recommendation lies on that behalf. what we dont want to end up happening is to have speakers that distract you from the experience.

and thats from a not-so-touchy hornhead.

From everything I've read the matching of brand (Polk to Polk, Klipsh to Klipsch, etc.) specs is far less important with the surrounds than it is with the front 3. That being said, I'm looking for a pair in the $500.00 range that will accent my blu-ray moving watching experiences the most.

Thanks again for all of the insight & opinions, hopefully I'll be able to figure something out.

They say it's not AS important to match your surrounds to your mains as it is to match your front sound stage, but IMO it still is important. Remember, a lot of surround effects pan from front to back, or vice versa. If your surround speakers have a completely different sound than your front speakers, you will be able to tell, and it may be very distracting to your movie watching experience.

Does anyone have the Polk FXI A6 and care to comment on their surround quality? Or any other recommendations for a good Polk surround to go with the 60's and CS2?

Thanks again everyone, I really appreciate it.

I agree. And it is even more important for multi-channel music to have matching surrounds.
