Default Blockbuster online is robbing us!

Im not sure if anyone does blockbuster online but my queue is loaded with blu ray selections. The thing is out of 15 on my queue all are either short wait, long wait, or very long wait! Everytime I return a movie I get a SD DVD from the bottom of my queue. Now here is my point: if blockbuster does not have the correct inventory to support Blu ray owners then arent they fudging the numbers to HD DVDs side?
For instance to simpliy, if they have a 100 hds and 100 blurays of a certain title but 100 hd users and 300 bluray users have them queued it actually shows equal
sales when in reality demand is 3:1. I have emailed them daily for a week on this but I get those letters for the masses that explain how a queue works. I really think that they have little concern for this but seriously 15 titles on a wait is unacceptable!! The only redeeming thing is I take in my return envelopes and clear my local store out of their blu ray titles. Any suggestions on contacting someone higher up becuase I really like going to the store to get movies while I wait, although I know netflix does a good job of having Bluray titles in stock.

this is one of many reasons why i purchase my blu-rays.

A few others:

1) I want to own the movie and watch it whenever

2) Dont want to put scratched up rental disks in my player

3) Enjoy collecting

etc. etc.

another reason would be for a better chance for blu-ray to win the format war if you actually own the movie

You purchase every Blu-ray and just about ever DVD you watch? You must have a huge collection. I have a lot of movies that I enjoy watching many times that I don't mind owning but still the majority of movies I see I only want to watch once, and even then I sometimes wish I hadn't. Not being able to rent Blu-ray in Singapore is part of the reason I have not purchased a player yet.

Nothing wrong with you buying Blu-rays mind you, but this simply doesn't happen with BD due to the hard coating. The only Blu-ray I had trouble playing back was one that had a crack through the entire plastic (ain't no coating going to help you with that).

Yeah, I usually rent a movie before I purchase it. (Girlfriend thinks I'm weird: "Why are you buying that movie? Didn't we watch it last week?") There are only a few exceptions where I'm absolutely confident I'll love it (Casino Royale, for instance). Netflix is working nicely for me although I'd switch to BB Online if they'd increase their in-store exchange quota.

They are also robbing us with the new pricing plans taking place starting next week. Because of this I've decided I'm going back to Netflix.

Quote:
Due to changes in our subscription plan pricing, your current BLOCKBUSTER Total Access™ plan, Unlimited Online DVDs up to 3 at a time plus unlimited in-store exchanges each month for $17.99, will no longer be available at the current price.

You will be moved to our new plan that includes Unlimited Online DVDs 3 at a time plus up to 5 free* in-store exchanges for $17.99. This plan will not include an e-coupon for in-store DVD and/or game rentals. The new subscription plan and pricing will go into effect on your regular monthly billing date following August 31, 2007.†

In addition, exclusively for BLOCKBUSTER Total Access customers, we have introduced in-store movie rentals for $1.99* per movie should you need more than the in-store exchanges included in your plan.

If you don't feel this plan is right for you, please feel free to take advantage of one of these other options:

Move to a new plan that includes Unlimited Online DVDs up to 2 at a time plus unlimited free* in-store exchanges each month for $21.99/month

OR

Move to a new plan that includes Unlimited Online DVDs up to 3 at a time for $16.99/month

I see most every well rated movie in the theater then buy the ones I like on blu-ray when they come out. I don't know what the hell people do to the rental discs, but they often look like someone took a scalpel to them.

Try Netflix. I've only had one problem with not getting a new release Blu-ray on time. It took about five days to get "Vacancy" after it's release date. Every other title, I've received the day of release.

I am using Blockbuster Online without any issues. Some titles take longer than I want, but I am always receiving something from my queue and that is good enough for me. I know the quantity carried for each title isn't great, but Blockbuster is trying to figure out some way to make a profit. I am happy with the service. I have both Blu-ray and HD DVD titles in my queue which probably helps some. My complaint is the selection offered from the studios doesn't include that many titles I am interested in, not that Blockbuster isn't carrying all or at least most that have been released of interest.

I have 16 titles evenly split between BD and HD, and not one is available... Most are long wait, and 2 which came out months ago are still showing unavailable... As soon as I get the e-mail about the change to Total Access service, I'll switch to Netflix... Did they not know there was going to be a hugh demand for BD once they announced the 1,500 in-store deal?...

That was the last straw that caused me to go back to Netflix. I had a few issues with BB online as well, including availability of BD's and DVD's. Netflix's instant viewing is a nice bonus too.

I haven't had many problems. perhaps it depends on which warehouse they ship yours from. the only ones I had trouble with were flyboys and crank. I just watched invincible, final fantasy should ship today, plus my instore rentals let me get another movie right away. I dig it. I live 1 block from a blockbuster.

Rent? What is that? For me, any movie worth seeing is worth buying.

Netflix is so much better! I switched from Netflix to Blockbuster and now am staying with Netflix.

I have had nothing on a long wait just some new releases on Short Wait.

I heard a rumor about that new pricing plan so with their long wait times, I'm definitely returning to Netflix.

Just switched to NetFlix for that same reason. Always get the top of my queue. Cancel your BB subscription online and I'll will give you the option to get another 4 weeks free and a dollar less if you stay.

I still left...
