There was so much packed into that hour, I'm gonna need a few rewatches to process it all.

That. Was. Properly. Epic.

I've just seen the first season for the very first time during this summer. I was not going to watch the rest, cause -while I liked a few episodes a lot- it just felt way too random for me, most of the time. However ... Everybody says I should hold on and it gets much much better in the third season.

I don't want to oversell it, but structurally at least, it's a bit like Babylon 5. There's standalone episodes and "arc" episodes. And when the arc is really kicking, grab on to something & hold on tight. One of the best shows of the past decade, and they really nailed the landing. Highly recommended.

There's a lot I really really liked about it, no doubt. But the randomness of it all kinda made me doubt if I should watch the rest anytime soon. Also the fact that there was no introduction at all and the episodes are way too short to actually give a damn about what's happening on screen.

BUT ... I think I'm going to continue. Cause it's quite unique and there's a lot to love.

Episode 1 titled “BMO” – “When there’s a deadly space emergency in the farthest reaches of the galaxy, there’s only one hero to call, and it’s probably not BMO. Except that this time it is!”

Episode 2 titled “Obsidian” – “Marceline and Princess Bubblegum journey to the imposing, beautiful Glass Kingdom — and deep into their tumultuous past — to prevent an earthshaking catastrophe.”

Episode 3 titled “Wizard City” – “Peppermint Butler starts over at the beginning, as just another inexperienced Wizard School student. When mysterious events at the campus cast suspicion on Pep, and his checkered past, can he master the mystic arts in time to prove his innocence?”

Episode 4 titled “Together Again” – “Finn and Jake [reunite] to rediscover their brotherly bond and embark on the most important adventure of their lives.”

Will there be a Blu-ray complete boxset for Region A (US)? I see a few on Amazon, but they're Madman.

I get it why this series is such a bit, but the art style looks really cheap and simplistic so it's hard to artistically compare it to cartoons of the 80:s and 90's. However, looking it as an "adult" cartoon (e.g. South Park, The Simpsons, Futurama, etc) it's entirely different.
