Default Aspect ratio for older shows on Hulu??

Can anyone please tell me if older shows on Hulu are in their original aspect ratio?

I'm thinking specifically about The Golden Girls, but let me know about other shows if you happen to know.

Thanks

The Golden Girls is the original 1:33 aspect.

Looks like Seinfeld is cropped to widescreen on Hulu and everywhere else.

It's why I wouldn't care if it ever went to BD. I'll stick with the correctly framed DVDs.

I think you mean stretched if the OAR is full screen. If the OAR was in widescreen, then the image would be cropped.

Seinfeld's OAR is full screen, it has been cropped to widescreen. Not stretched.

It's cropped, like many other TV shows zoomed in for modern TVs.

It was the first to use the full negative, thus discovering some extra picture information on the sides. You can see that in the examples. However, at the same time it is cropped eliminating headroom.

Friends used the same modification so you’ll see things like stand-ins, the end of set walls, and even gags meant for studio audiences.

I know the first eight seasons of Scrubs is original 1.33 on Amazon Prime and was on Hulu. But with the new reframed 1.78 version being used for syndication, I’m not sure if Hulu changed it.

Make that first 7 for Scrubs being the original 1.33. Season 8 at the least was aired and released on Blu in 1.78.

Yeah it is, you're right. I've never notice it was missing that much image maybe because, all of the TV shows that I've watched on home video were in their OAR. It does make a difference.
