I watch Kolchak: The Night Stalker every Saturday Night after Buck Rogers In The 25th Century on Me TV and I have the TV movies and series on DVD.
I also have a couple of the Kolchak comic books published by Moonstone and the 2005 Kolchak reboot series on DVD.

My favorite episode was Horror in the Heights which was written by Hammer alumnus Jimmy Sangster. The only quibble that I would have is that they didn't go after more prominent horror writers like sangster. The Energy Eater is also great and it has the distinction of being the only episode where the authorities acknowledged Kolchak was right. The Trevi Collection is another enjoyable episode with Lara Parker playing a witch.

Spanish Moss Murders freaked me out as a kid on the CBS Late Show. Also one of the most quotable episodes.

"What is that, Salvador Dali's Bar Mitzvah photo?"

"Kolchak... you really BUG me"

"I try to be a nice guy!"
"How's that working out for you?"
"I'm not sure."

Loved this series as a kid. Assuming I caught it when it first aired. But, I remember it being shown late at night where I lived. By late, I mean after the 10pm news. Think it was on every Friday night. Though, it's been a long long time since then. The old memory may not be what it used to be. But, I would absolutely be picking this up upon its release. Hoping pricing is affordable.

Same, but I was 13. Sad when it was canceled.... Can't wait to revisit.

Yep, it was 8pm Friday nights EST for its entire 20-episode run. Thus it aired at 7pm if you were in Central Time, as I was.

After it was canceled, it was replaced by The Howard Cosell Show.

My Mom said it would give me nightmares and wouldn't let me watch it.

Howard Cossell does have that effect on some.

This is a massive announcement for me. Top 5 most wanted for sure. I still can't understand why this series lasted only one season.

Chalk it up to being ahead of its time. The premise was a much bigger hit 20 years later, when Chris Carter used it as inspiration for The X-Files.

It also aired on the CBS Late Movie on Friday nights. The one with the mannequins was the one that had me hiding behind the couch!
