I was looking at some pictures of peoples HT's and was wondering what kind of LED lights I could/should pick up to add to my HT. Also where I should buy them would help too lol. Thanks

I have them and they are from Cyron if it is the colored lights you see and like. They can be a bit pricey and I bought mine from Amazon. I attached the link below for the 2 LED Lightbar set as the 6 LED Lightbar set is unavailable and out of stock?? From Cyron's own website, I no longer see the 6 LED Lightbar set either, so I'm not sure why. However, if you want more than 2, you can buy another set of the 2 LED lightbars only seperately to make your set-up for 4 or even more up to 8 I believe. The 2 Lightbar set goes for 79.99 on Amazon.

http://www.amazon.com/Lightbar-Media...1449093&sr=8-1.

If you are interested in the company Cyron itself, I attached their website below.

You can often find the 6 packs on Ebay. That's where I got mine. Just search for Cyron on Ebay.

Try IKEA, seems like alot of other members use them as well and they are cheaper, but the bulbs should be at least 6500K.

Below is an excerpt from an articles as to why they should at least be 6500K:

Quote from Cinemaquest site:

Ambient lighting should be of the correct color, as close as possible to CIE D65 (D6500 Kelvins). This specification for white light is more toward the blue end of the visual spectrum, to simulate average north sky daylight at midday. D65 is the reference white point used in correctly calibrated video displays. Typical residential incandescent lighting is much more yellow/red in spectrum and will skew or distort human color perception in a video viewing environment. The most common source for D6500K lighting is full-spectrum fluorescent lamps.

IKEA has the dioders for $50. I personally did not like them but many members have those here. They look great in pictures, I just personally thought they were not bright nor worth the money.

EDIT: Beat me to it.

This is true. Ambient lighting for movie watching should be 6500K. Except in my case, all the lights are off for movie watching. I have the lights on only for show/music/people over/pre-gaming/my own amusement. During movies the room is pitch black. And I don't need to boost my TVs black levels by putting white behind it,

Ya I'm getting them more for show. I would not use them while watching movies on a regular bases. I might watch some movies or play some video games on occasion with them on just for the hell of it but for the most part they are for show

I know, your lights look amazing. But I just wasn't satisfied with the dioders, especially at $50. I took them back and got the Cyron 6 pack...I love them.

I always turn mine on for TV/movie watching and gaming. I find they make it easier on my eyes.

Mine are always on too....but my 4 year old has a big say here...she likes to turn them on. But I would have them on anyway, as they do help with my eyes as well.

Yes, that is true that ambient light should be at least 6500K. For those of you with ambient backlights do you actually have your lights set that way when you watch films though? All the gallery photos I see show deep neon blues, greens, or reds, but I haven't seen any actually set at 6500k white light. Does anyone have gallery photos showing that? I'm just curious, and would like to see some photos with the ambient light theory in play.

check my b/room h/t setup i have the cinema quest 6500k bulbs set of 2 1 top and 1 bottom on my tv i like the colors i see for sum of the other h/t's but id rather have correct lighting than ooo and aaa at lights that still cause strain thinkin of adding those cyron lights to both my h/t setups for music and company nights but def worthless in my opinion while watchin tv

I don't know, I like to have my lights on while watching a movie. I think they add to the experience. Like I recently watched The Decent in a pitch black room...except for my Cyron lights turned to RED! So freaky and adds to the overall experience.

HA! That's an awesome idea. I've had it in my collection for a long time and have yet to watch it. I may have to try your method out!

I have a 50" plasma. Is one pack of the cyron 15" lights enough? I do not know much about them so help would be great.
