Italy Halloween Film Collection I - VIII

I got this through from Amazon Italy the other day, primarily for Halloween 6, Halloween H20 and Halloween Resurrection, as I already have the first five movies in various other editions.

It's a decent set that looks great on the shelf, though I've moved all the discs into a proper box as I can't stand book-style packaging where the discs are in sleeves rather than on hubs. You just can't get the discs out without leaving fingerprints on them and I was always under the impression that discs should be stored with nothing touching the playing surface. Thankfully none of them were scratched, unlike the discs in my Friday the 13th tin, which was the worst experience I've had with this kind of packaging

4 and 5 are somewhat bare-bones but the other films have plenty of special features. It's great that both cuts of Halloween 6 are included, though a shame that the Rob Zombie films, TV cut of Halloween and the most recent reboot sequel are not. I guess with Halloween Kills coming, no 'complete' collection would be complete anyway.

My main concern (other than the book-style packaging) was that the Italian subtitles might not be removeable, but they were, so this is a good alternative for those who can't (or don't want to) go for the Region A sets.

Is there a list of what features on each disc? It'd be interesting to compare it to the Scream/AB set.

I wish the discs are in regular packaging instead of the book sleeves packaging.

Yeah it’s just Italian for (removable) subs, with both Italian and English audio on each disc.

Are the transfers the same as the Scream Factory set or the regular blurays?

Excellent set which i bought on your recommendation/ mention. A great way to pick up (almost) every Halloween movie and a great price too. We watched through the lot last October.

It came out just under three years ago so I don't think so.

I don't know, I still have the first UK steelbook of Halloween, the original Universal Halloween II, the German mediabook of Halloween III and the old UK Anchor Bay Halloween 4 and Halloween 5 but haven't done a comparison.

This is still my go to set. I haven't bothered with any of the recent 4K releases. This was a great and cost effective way to get almost every movie in the franchise.

I couldn't find this thread when searching, but glad I've found it now. This set is great for us Region B-ers.

This set can get a little pricey, but it often floats around the £150 mark on eBay UK (at the time of writing). I've seen the far inferior Anchor Bay Halloween: The Complete Collection DVD boxset sold for the same price, which makes opting for the Midnight boxset a no-brainer by comparison.

I will more than likely be making a replacement case, because from an aesthetic and practical perspective, the design is rubbish. Not only is it plastered in Halloween (2018) masks (the Trick or Treat Studios stock catalog photo, no less), but there's errors inside too (like a Halloween Resurrection image used for Halloween H20: Twenty Years Later). Then there's the fact that the discs are held in card sleeves, meaning that getting them out without getting thumbprints on them is near impossible. Also, the art cards included are quite rubbish, using variations of the theatrical posters rather than 1:1 copies (like using the Lionsgate 'flame' cover for the Halloween 5: The Return of Michael Myers art card).

I've been working on a design for a nine-way Amaray, so I'll post those in time for anyone interested!

The disc art is pure amateur hour, thankfully that and the card sleeves are the only complaints I have about this set - once I had taken the discs out there was no way I was going to be putting them back in. I have them safely stored in a 10DVD box together with the TV cut of Halloween that came in a paper sleeve inside the Italian 4K SteelBook.

Oh good idea!

I will be keeping this boxset packaging tucked away safe somewhere, as I have a Halloween shelf with multiple DVDs and Blus on display from the series. But for practicality, I'm definitely making a proper nine-way Amaray, hopefully with a little booklet that breaks down the features in English too. Here's the design I have so far:
