Yeah, the items are pretty cool. I'd actually buy the Alistair Brain beach ball if it existed.

Granted, I think all the items that are currently listed as "sold out" (the beach ball, toothbrush set - hahaha, bedding set, etc) are fake, but the toys, drinking glasses and shirts are real. Still pretty funny.

Just got to check this out last night. I didn't love it like I thought I would. It was sold as a 90s kids movie with gore, but it had that cheeky self aware vibe that modern horror always has to do. They were really trying to push the frig off thing and it didn't work for me. The song at the climax was had my eyes rolling.

It has good stuff in it which was the most disappointing part. I think if they played the story straight and literally made a kids movie with gore it would've been great, or just made a flick completely about the story of Psycho Goreman and focused on the cool aliens and weird planets.

So I live in the middle of nowhere (Walmarts galore and nothing else.) Today my wife and I went to the nearest shopping mecca that’s a hour drive. Hoping to score a copy of PG, I went to FYE, Target, and last hope, Best Buy. Here’s what I found:

A poster gave me grief recently for not supporting brick and mortar, when I preordered a blu from Amazon. Some of us have very few alternatives.

Full disclosure - there were a few titles on the other side, maybe 1/3 capacity. No PSYCHO GOREMAN.

Man, don’t let anyone shame you for that. I live in a mid-major city and as far as I’m concerned, the type of brick and mortar that would have a decent blu selection can die. Stores like Best Buy helped kill small local businesses long before Amazon came around with the final nail in the coffin.

I'm in a similar boat. Over 30 miles to the nearest WalMart. Nearly an hour to get to those other stores. Most people see physical media sections shrinking now, but the rural WalMart's around here have always had a terrible physical media selection. Best Buy and the like were a touch better, but still always a fraction of what the larger big-city locations carried at the peak of physical media.

The nearest FYE still has a surprisingly strong dvd /blu ray section though. You can still see signs of how much bigger it used to be. There's holes in the ceiling tile where the conduit came down into the listening stations at the end cap of the music rows, those holes make a timeline of the reduction over the years. It's about half of what it once was, but it's also still three or four times bigger than any other FYE I've been to while traveling for work.

Can't let the haters get you down here. I try to buy directly from the boutique labels. Support DiabolikDVD/Ronin/Grindhouse as much as I can. But I'm not turning down a good deal down on Amazon, and I'm not stressing over the lesser of two evils (Walmart vs Amazon) when it comes major studio stuff releases.

I check Wally/Target/Best Buy for new releases when they come out. The problem for me is that they have not been stocking much of anything these past few months. The latest title I've seen in person is The Croods 2. Otherwise nothing else in stock in store. I'd prefer to buy new releases in person to check the slip and make sure it isn't a "floater" etc. Any limited edition or boutique film I still get online though. In fact, I'm going to go place an order with Diabolik right now...

Diabolik was the first place I went after my little excursion. They are sold out, so of course I went to Bezos.

Even the largest Best Buys in city locations have pared down their physical media to one long rack carrying only a very limited selection of mainstream movies and maybe the top 2 or 3 new weekly releases. This is a corporate edict, not something limited to individual stores.

I don't think they are restocking the limited edition. Though there are a bunch of editions out there~I also think they mentioned other editions coming soon...

This reminds me that I preordered the Hunky Boy edition back in January. Looks like it hasn't shipped yet even though the database gives the release date as March 16. The Raven Banner website just says "late March."

An earlier post mentioned production delays on the limited edition:

The plastic used to manufacture Blu-ray discs is the same kind used to make syringes... Go figure... yet another way C19 is messing with us! We've been told by our duplication company that we're a week or two behind as a result.

As soon as we hear that the discs are in production we will let you know. Our sincerest apologies for this, but sadly it is completely out of our control.

I asked Raven Banner on Twitter and they have indeed sold out from their store. They did say "Third party suppliers still have some allocated stock which ships to North America only."

https://www.unobstructedview.com/pro...adian-edition/

...but it looks like clicking pre-order just refreshes the page. Hmmm.
