It might be a legit bd-r, seeing as even Sony does that.
I got it from an American seller on eBay but I don't see it there now.

I seriously doubt it's legit, BD-Rs rarely are and BD-Rs from Russia even less so.

I found this on ebay:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/26507666331...6&toolid=10001
Same seller you bought from?

Also found this website selling it, but itks probably the same thing.
https://www.russiandvd.com/ku!-kin-d...28subtitles%29

Also, it appears to have a proper menu, even if in Russian, and I find it strange there is no record of this ever having a “legit” pressed 3D disc.

So if this is a copy of a pressed disc that was short lived, there is no record of it anywhere.
Usually bootlegs of webrips are just the movie.
I’m assuming the subtitles for this are also in 3D?

The seller I bought from is no longer registered on eBay and yes, no problem with subtitles when viewing in 3D.

The menu you picture is the menu on the disc.

Do you have your disc/case at hand? Can you confirm if it looks like this.
I noticed this edition as a stamp on it. Did yours also came with one?
Thanks

I'd rather they cancel the 3d than to know they made it and never released a 3d blu. Unless of course I was allowed to at least see it in cinemas in 3d

I also ordered this from an ebay-seller from USA. It was a bootleg on a black (bottom) disc with a simple printed case-cover. I sent it back to him, he said I will get the money back, but I never got it refunded.

The official licensed version looks like this:

I watched Самогонщики aka Bootleggers in 3D today. Apparently someone in Russia spent 3+ months converting this to 3D in photoshop!? It's a 30 minute movie from 1962 that's basically, from what I can tell, the Russian Three Stooges. There's no dialog, it's a silent film so subtitles aren't required. The quality of the video isn't the best, mainly because he probably had to use a 480p or 720p source, but surprisingly the 3D is pretty good. It's no autoconversion. I did some searching in goggle and found this topic on how to create 3D SBS images in Photoshop, I'm tempted to try something like this myself;

My favorites are Viy and Stalingrad, but even those two are a mixed bag. Viy has a lot of poorly converted footage, and Stalingrad needed stronger depth. Flight Crew and Spacewalker are good movies but very flat native 3D. I'd love to have Viy 2: The Iron Mask and Robinson Crusoe (1947) available on Blu-ray 3D.
I really really want to see ROBINSON CRUSOE (1947) on Blu-ray 3D. I really hope the 3DFA is able to do it at some point.

One 1987 Soviet 3D film I'd love to see in 3D properly some day is the musical/fantasy "Ona s metloy, on v chyornoy shlyape" / "She Has a Broom, He has a Black Hat".

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0186421/
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/She_wi...in_a_Black_Hat

I saw this way back on the old field-sequential 3D VHS format, and the 3D was quite stunning, even in that lousy resolution. Excellent sets and wonderful layering - clearly intended for 3D. The acting seemed rather poor. Sadly the elements are probably lost to time, but it was released in 2D on DVD in Russia at some point, so maybe the 3D elements do exist somewhere? I can't see anybody in Russia spending the money and time to restore it though.

There's already a 3-D DCP, it's been screened at various festivals. It's just a matter whether a deal can be worked out so it can be released. Unfortunately there seems little cause for optimism there.

It's not so long ago, I'm sure Gorky Studios have something. It was filmed in the large format Stereo-70 process, so there may be issues scanning the negative, but it also would've been reduced to 35mm, so there may be prints or other material to work from.

Agree about the set design.

It goes without saying that I'd like to see both of these films made available again.

I just bought a copy from the RussianDVD website. The trailer looked really good. Those who have seen this, how is the film and the 3D quality

Hi waverboy

I'm interested in this one myself but helpcentermc had posted the cover for the official 3D release and it appears different from the one on ebay and that RussianDVD website. So am wondering if this is bootlegged

Just wanted to post in here in case you weren't aware that the second Ivan Tsarevich movie is in 3D. I didn't see an entry on blu-ray.com for the bundle I found so I created one. Its an authentic 2 disk pressed BD-ROM with slipcover. Both movies have fantastic 3D, comparable with the 1991 Beauty and the Beast conversion. The first movie has quite a few conversion mistakes however, especially in the middle. The second one is near perfect. I don't really know how to properly post pictures here otherwise I'd share pictures of the one I obtained from an Ebayer in Russia.

I know there are more 3D movies from this same animation studio that are not yet entered in blu-ray.com yet and I'd love a complete list of all the ones that were officially released on blu-ray if anyone has one.

Hi waverboy

FYI. The seller on eBay said what he was selling did not have English subtitles. But that Russian DVD website says it does.

Has any brave soul received their copy of "Ku! Kin-dza-dza" 3D from russiandvd.com yet?

Is it legit? Waiting to spend more of my hard earned bucks.

Thanks,
Jason

Hi Jason

I've been looking for the original release version posted by helpcentermc to no avail.
