This is by far the best period drama related to WWII.
It was interesting for once to re-live those events from the view of the German people. Oftentime we only get the perspective of the Allies and Nazi Germany is depicted as a very one-dimensional 'evil' nation. I also found the sets and customs top notch, and the dialogues don't sound as modernized as most modern period tv shows do. The characters here look and speak just like German folks in the 1940s. This is so far the best tv show on Netflix! |

I saw GW but to me it was 'ok'. It felt a little too stereotyped with well-defined good guys and villains wheras Charite of War felt more spontaneous and realistic with people caught in situations and trying to make the best decisions they can, sometimes acting on impulse or on fear. There are no good guys vs bad guys here, just human beings caught in incredibly unique situations and moral dilemmas.
