What is so good about the starcraft series? Was not much of a pc gamer back then and always heard good things about the first one.

Is this just a rts game such as c&c?

I really liked it I was young enough to get hooked on this along with C&C, and warcraft II ... basically its like those two in the future awsome game I'm sure you can find it dirt cheap now worth a try tho!

It's not 'just a rts game' it's the national sport of Korea.

it's an rts like C&C and warcraft 1/2/3, but set in the far future and with an engrossing single-player campaign and universe and with an exquisitely balanced multiplayer system.

i wonder how they choose people, if its just random or if there is some system to it. I never seem to get into any beta's

I wouldn't say that.

After a few runs with the Protoss I can wipe the floor with anyone in the original Starcraft.

Speaking of, I have to find my damned game disk, it went missing a few days ago and I can't find it.

I got my code from Blizzcon 2 years back. The card came with a Blizzard Bear mount and a Code for SC2. Once I gave them that code they sent me an email saying I would 'hear' back from them. Almost 2 years later I got another email from them with another CD key that would allow me access to the SC2 beta.

Not sure on the picture situation. I was just going to give a couple teasers

A patch was released by Blizzard today bring 3D support for StarCraft II, meaning that now the Banshees will completely turn off the screen. The patch, first time since the largest release of StarCraft II in July, also brought some changes to balance the game's most important. The graphics are also good.
