Is any one geting this or excited about it. I loved this movie as a kid never owned the DVD just the vhs hope the transfer is good.

I am planning to get it but I am waiting to see a review, the DVD version was horrible in PQ and I am hoping they do a good job for the BD

i thought the 2 disc looked excellent

just me though..

anyways i must have watched this movie 50 times as a kid. great production design, great hero/villain story, and of course great over the top acting by alan rickman! i don't care what people think about costner's accent..if something that minor really brings down the entire movie for them then that's just silly

i will say this...i wish both theatrical and extended edition were being included because i'm not a huge fan of some of the inserted scenes. some are great, others are just kinda dumb and i wish we had the option to watch without them. oh well, i'll take what i can get

Haven't seen this movie since the days of VHS. May have to Netflix it and see if it will be worth my money.

I found it horrible even for a DVD it was fuzzy and not very clear and you could tell they never took the time to make a good transfert. I was very disapointed.

Sorry about that thats the right date i had the 3 in my head because its out in 3 weeks. I have heard bad things about the dvd too so i am waiting till a revier is up on the PQ

First day buy here, still not sure why I unloaded the DVD so soon after I got it. One of the few Costner movies I can stand, probably because of the excellent supporting cast.

I've always had a soft spot for this movie. It is by no means the definitive version of the Robin Hood legend, and yes Costner and Slater's accents are all over the place - but I just think its a great, fun movie to watch. And Alan Rickman's sherriff steals the movie!!!

Even if the PQ isn't the best it can be, for some reason I never owned it on DVD, so it's going to look great to me. (I pre-ordered it during one of Columbia House's BOGO sales.)

Sherriff: ...I'll cut your heart out with a spoon.

Gisbon: Buy why a spoon, cousin. Why not an ax or a dagger.

Sherriff: Because it's blunt you idiot, it'll hurt more!!! (all in the delivery)

Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves is a great film, and I cannot wait to add it to my Blu-ray library.

Love this movie and can't wait to get it on the 26th. I only have the VHS as well and I'm hoping to read some reviews soon to see how the PQ is; I'm getting it no matter what but hopefully it'll have a great transfer.

A good transfer will be a key for me. Liked the movie, but did not love it. I have it on DVD, and it will take a nice effort for me to upgrade. There are just too many good movies getting released.
