Turbine to release a limited media book edition of Jan De Bont's blockbuster movie "Twister", with, for the first time, new Dolby Atmos & Auro-3D audio tracks!

The edition will include 2-discs:

Disc 1 Blu-ray:
German Dolby Atmos
German DTS 2.0
English Dolby Atmos
English DTS 2.0

Disc 2 Blu-ray:
German Auro 3D 11.1
English Auro 3D 11.1

YEESSS!!! One of my favorite ‘guilty’ pleasures. I went through a tornado obsession phase and I lost track of how many times I watched this movie.

Hope the transfer is good and the Dolby Atmos track is reference quality (no reason why it shouldn’t be if done properly).

Love love love this movie. But not too keen on these media packs and these multiple audio versions that you probably can't tell apart and need extreme audio equipment to enjoy and tell apart. Would have preferred a cool steelbook.

Yeah I’m surprised they’re still pushing for Auro. Seems even higher-end newer receivers are phasing it out.

Also agree about the media books. They’re pretty overkill. I’d rather just have an Arrow-style packaging with a little booklet inside instead of these bigger packs. They don’t even fit in my bookshelves vertically.

I’ll basically just be getting it for the audio upgrade and (hopefully) better picture too.

Went to their site but couldn’t find a listing. Any info on potential release dates?

There were rumors of Warner (US rights holder) and Universal (international distributor) finalizing a new 4k HDR transfer with De Bont signing off on it. It may not be long until it hits digital storefronts and a UHD disc gets announced (in both regions possibly).

Turbine haven't officially announcent it yet. It was listed on a flyer that came with the new "DragonHeart" edition. But no release date yet.

What makes you think they are the same master? I ripped and muxed my Dragonheart copy and compared both soundtracks over a couple of scenes, they seem different.

Edit: Now wondering if you were talking about the sound mixes or the picture.

Based off DRAGONHEART and DAYLIGHT, you can count on it. Still, there’s a very good chance a 4K is on its way, soon, too.

What the hell, I ordered a copy. I wonder if it will look any better than the Universal disc and hopefully the TrueHD 7.1 core sounds good, since I don't have an Atmos setup.

Now I suppose a UHD Blu-ray will be announced imminently.
