For those who've read the comic book, how far are we regarding the story? Middle, near the end?

Despite a number of weak passages, I thought this was easily the best season. I tend to like the show best when it's focused on Jesse & Tulip, but Starr always gives me a laugh.

It ran for 66 weeks and from the little I read up on it, the show isn't much like it. Maybe it is and I just got the basics but I don't think the show would follow it too closely and have to end it soon.

They will be lucky at this point to get a 4th season. So hopefully it does.

I haven't read them, but I was just skimming the wikipedia page for the comics because of your question and the events are definitely changed a lot but it seems like the show is still following the same general trajectory, and so far the show has wrapped up around issue 17 (of 66).

Apparently Sam Catlin has said that with season 3 we're a little over halfway through the show, so if this is true, then the plan is probably 2 more seasons.

I struggled to get into season 3 as easily as I did with the other two seasons but the last three episodes of season 3 are some of the best of the series. I so hope this gets renewed - a much better show than either of The Walking Deads.

Just read that Preacher had ended (or been canceled), yet I was waiting all these years for Season 5. I ought to watch the series finale episode just to remind myself how it all ended.

Sigh. Great show.
