Just came out and it has dropped to $20. Is it really that bad? I was thinking of picking it up.

Well the Leisure Suit Larry games are probably best left to PC's, where they don't have to tone things down as much. I'm pretty sure Sony would never allow them to have stuff in the game that was in some of the PC games.

Maybe that's why it's dropped in price... because a censored Leisure Suit Larry kind of removes the main reason why people get the games.

It scored a 2.2 at ign.com -- they said it's just plain awful. Lots of sexually explicit content, but just a horrible, horrible game.

The series hasn't been good since Al Lowe left and Sierra had it.

A real shame. I loved the series once upon a time... and Patti loved my pulsating pectorals.

This was a huge disappointment! they should've just redone Magna Cum Laude for the 360 and this would've still been 100x better!

Well I rented it from Gamefly and I think that they were not harsh at all.

Although I'd give it a 3.0 due to it having a lot to do in it with over 10 hours of gameplay if you choose to do all the mini-missions and collect trophys.

Though anyone that plays it for either an hour or 20 minutes, you'll see where the faults are in the graphics and umm 'playability' with bugs/glitches/etc making things more harder than needed.

Also the graphics for this title could be passed off for PS2 easily.

I do not even recommend anyone paying money to rent this game, but its okay to play it for free if a friend lends it to you, but even then you should counsel your friend in buying better video games.

the shameful part of it is that now that its 20 bucks so many trophy *****s are gonna buy it .. and then they devs wil lthink hey maybe it wasnt that bad .. lets make another .. and so on and so on...

Well people playing this game for trophys are going to be in for a treat as its becoming one of the most difficult games I've ever played due to all the bugs and glitches in game play. Its far from a smooth operation in the game play.

I wonder how a game with so many bugs/glitches even gets released nowadays. Did they run into a deadline and not have time to test/fix all the bugs? Or did they not know how to fix it, and said f--- it, and released the game anyway?

I'm guessing that they didn't know how to fix them as they are literally everywhere you look in the game, whether it be in the loading sequences, driving, walking, running, climbing, jumping, video interaction, you name it, there are bugs.

the only one i ever played was magna cum laude on the PC, is it pretty much the same thing, basically just a bunch of minigames and some boobs thrown in for good measure?

Actually there is zero nudity thoroughout the entire game. And for 'special' scenes, you see him go into a trailer and then it quickly fades to black.

Back in the day, it wasn't like that, though. It was actually a game, and they were pretty difficult, at that.

I remember Larry back when he wasn't even mouse-driven.

yeah, my dad had some of the old ones, but i wasnt allowed to play them since i was only 10 or so, but when i saw magna cum laude come out, i decided to see what was so bad that i wasnt allowed to play, i got kinda bored with it after awhile, although playing quarters was pretty fun

wow thats lame, i thought that was pretty much the point of those games, so its like mario party with innuendo?

Honestly, the really raised the sex factor in the new ones, and the nudity. Back in the day, the nudity and serious stuff was usually hidden in the game in an "easter-egg" form.

The games were sexual in nature, but they did have something else going for them, and they were fun.

The new ones, not so much...

I'm only continuing to play this game in order to get the Platinum trophy and then I'm returning it to the store as its only a rental.

If I'd known how bad this game would be, I wouldn't have rented it.

Its bad when you struggle to run across the street without glitching.
