Default Richard Donner to direct Lethal Weapon 5 at 91 years old

Apparently there is a drought of directors in hollywood and Richard Donner has passed on The Goonies 2 in order to direct Lethal Weapon 5 at the at of 91.

Which begs the question will the director need his own stunt double?

I wonder why that thread does not show on the first page when I searched "lethal weapon 5"?

You're probably searching by posts, rather than title only. There will be a lot of mentions of lethal weapon in various movie threads which would bury the actual thread.

People are seriously giving credence to what Corey Feldman is spouting? WB is not making a 5th Lethal Weapon

If this is true - and that's a big "if" - this is the worst idea I've heard in at least three hours.

Lethal Weapon 4 while not exactly perfect, was a good enough end to the series. This just spells wrong in every way. Donner, bless him, but everybody involved in the LW series is either old(most of the cast and crew) or dead(Michael Kamen RIP). Not insulting any of em, but this just seems impractical and unnecessary. Be like Clint doing a Dirty Harry 6.

Let it go Donner, let it go.

Is he competing with Clint Eastwood for the title of oldest working American director?

I'd rather have Goonies 2.

Whoa.... I'm down but only if glover and gibson are back. Problem is glover is old as sh** and they already had less to do in 4.

Ditto.

I'd clearly watch a LW5, but I think they needed to make it about a decade ago.

All 7 Goonies are still somewhat young and all want to make it.

Paul Thomas Anderson shadowed Robert Altman so he could step in in the event Altman was died or was incapacitated during the production of A Prairie Home Companion. I’m sure they’d do the same thing if this movie is ever made. Shane Black would be the most obvious choice.

That’s SOP for any director who is 70ish or up. Altman’s shadow/standby on Gosford Park was Stephen Frears, and Richard Linklater would have fulfilled that role on Hands on a Hard Body

Looks like the studio will have to find another Geriatric director for Lethal Weapon 5 now. https://gizmodo.com/the-industry-tha...him-1847234553
