Yeah E3 has been super meh so far. Only thing that can save it is Nintendo for me.

They won't have to do much. BOTW 2 and Metroid Prime 4 along with the announcement of Switch Pro and Nintendo can claim victory.

This is the worst looking main cast for any final fantasy by a long shot. Just terrible character designs. At least the 15 boy band fit with the rest of the games aesthetic. Here we just have Button Up Shirt and Jeans Man in the final fantasy 1 world, and it looks as stupid as it sounds.

How do you show nothing but 4 seconds of FF16, geezum people. We saw more in September 2020.

I agree with everybody else on this one, it looked terrible.

It seems very forced. I'd rather they leave alone a classic like Final Fantasy (NES).

Why has no one told Nomura “No” over the last twenty years? Good lord! I actually thought using Nomura designed characters for the ordinary NPCs and townsfolk would have helped FFVIIR if just for better visual consistency but then you get another reminder like this that the man has highly questionable taste.

I've seen worse, this doesn't look horrible IMO, as the combat looks impactful and gory, as expected from Team Ninja. The bleak backgrounds seem interesting if it was open world. The dialog is a bit corny sounding with some of the delivery. Character designs are very basic looking.

I'll keep an open mind if it's open world. If not, I'll pass. I'll take real time action like this any day over the classic Turn based combat of older RPGs.

But yeah, E3 2021 without Sony was not very good at all sadly. Ubisoft and XBox had at least some decent games to show.

Forza Horizon 5 best of show IMO and I don't own an XBSX/S.
Avatar, looks decent but likely online only from Massive (Division games).

Sony not showing up, just doing state of play on their own. It's likely they didn't have much to show for E3. Same with Konami.

I guess E3 2021 is better than nothing at all like 2020, but this was not easy to watch this year with a lot of anime type games overwhelming the show.

I think "losing less" is a more accurate description lol. But yeah, I found MS' conference to be merely okay to mediocre where all the others have been downright terrible. Nintendo is the last saving grace for E3.
