List of PS4 Games with DLC/Updates pre-installed on the disc

I have an addition. The re-printed don't starve together has all content on disc vs. the misprint original release. The way to tell the difference is that the reprint is larger data 3gb and the original is like 500mb on the back of the case. The original release is botched release where they had to patch in about 5/6 of the content due to a printing error. Long story short, you want the 3gb version of the game

Mass Effect Legendary Edition - All 3 games remastered. Contains most single player DLC on disc (Pinnacle Station is not included due to the code being lost). No multiplayer.

NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139... - Remaster of the original Japanese version, contains The World of Recycled Vessel DLC on disc

The physical edition of the The Complex (from Limited Run Games) installs as 1.03. There is a patch to 1.04 though.

They try, but there are limits as to how long they can delay manufacturing. If the patch exists at time of manufacturing, they include it. If the dev tells them an important patch is coming soon, they will wait to include it. If an unplanned patch comes out after they're already past the point of no return in their manufacturing order with Sony? It is what it is, what more can they do at that point.

For whatever it's worth I don't think the 1.04 does much. The log just says bug fixes, but I played on digital back when it was 1.03 and had no issues.

That being said I'm not 100% sure, I only read a couple of comments on unboxing videos that say that, I can't be sure until I see pics or a video or a credible source saying so. Or an overwhelming amount of people saying otherwise

I bought Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX on disc. It didn't need an update, as the PS5 version is exactly the same as the PS4 version from what I see so far. I can't tell any difference.

I see Fallout 4's Game of the Year disc requires all DLC to be downloaded which is nonsense compared to Fallout 3's GOTY which had everthing on disc, which was great.

Tekken 7: Legendary Edition (Europe, Middle East, and Africa only): 8 DLC characters (Anna, Lei, Marduk, Armor King, Julia, Zafina, Ganryu & Kunimitsu) are included as a voucher code.

The digital-only Originals Edition features what's in the Legendary Edition + Frame Data Display + 4 other DLC characters (Eliza, Leroy Smith, Fahkumram and Lidia Sobieska).

The digital-only Definitive Edition contains every piece of DLC.

PS4 edition: contains 2 discs (main game + DLC). The PS5 upgrade is included as a voucher code (source)
PS5 edition: contains 1 disc (main game only). The DLC is included as a voucher code.

Hitman 3 and Borderlands 3: Ultimate Edition for PS5 are both incompetent releases where they clearly didn't realize that PS5 discs can hold more than 50GB.

Hitman 3 only includes 3 of 6 levels in both the PS4 and PS5 versions; the rest must be downloaded through a patch.

Borderlands 3: Ultimate Edition for PS5 is just the base game on disc. The downloadable content is included as a voucher code.

The problem for Borderlands 3, from my understanding, is that Sony has not yet created a way to include a build and a separate DLC payload on a disc. If you want to release a disc that includes DLC, you currently need to create a whole new build that incorporates the DLC, and have that new separate build go through the entire Sony-controlled build authorization/verification process (which costs time and money). This is not the case on PS4 - at some point, Sony did create a process for this, so devs can put the DLC on the actual disc (space permitting) without any of the costs associated with creating new builds. This is the reason Borderlands 3, MK11, FF7 Intergrade, and a few other games don't have the DLC on disc even though there was room.

For Hitman 3, I'm not sure why that happened. Was this game episodic, with staggered release dates for the levels/episodes? I vaguely remember that being the case, and this disc release could have been manufactured before all the levels were finished/released, just like all those episodic Telltale games.
