This is great news, I'm really hoping this is the extended cut as well as being region free. Casualties of War is a great film, and I cannot wait to add it to my Blu-ray library.

I liked casulity of war. But its not the best war film for me. You cant beat saving private ryan or a bridge too far!

I imported this BD from cdjapan to the US. Sony has delivered on yet another stellar catalog transfer. I watched from 1x screen width on a JVC RS55 eshift projector. No DNR and no EE at all. If interested in this title, I would STRONGLY suggest picking it up.

It was never released here in the UK, despite the link in the original post.

But if you're referring to the Japanese edition, it's not the extended cut.

Just a word of warning. Despite what it states on the cover, the Dutch release is the theatrical version, but Koch Media in Germany is releasing it on December 1st with both cuts.

Can someone confirm whether the uk release is just the theatrical release or both cuts?

If I trust the announced running time, I'd say it's the theatrical cut.

I had a look at the back cover in HMV today, and it says 'theatrical cut' under the list of special features. So I'm still none the wiser as to whether the main feature is the directors cut or not.

Why that's listed under the special features is anyone's guess - really? I get the movie I paid for as well as this case? Wow!

Reversible sleeve though;

The disc is marked ABC as well so looks like that's what we're all getting.

So does the German release have both the Theatrical and Extended versions in HD ? I though I read in one of the threads here at least one of the versions was in SD ?
