28 Days Later (2002) / 28 Weeks Later (2007)

28 weeks later is going to be awsome on blu, especially with the specs introduced. But what I want to know is will 28 days later be worth rebuying, it was shot with Canon XL-1 SD Mini-DV, would they really be able to make it look better in HD? I hope it would, but some input to this situation is welcome.

Not sure if this answers your question, but it will look better I believe. I saw it at a variety of theatrical screenings, about six times, and the DVD did not look as good. I believe the blu-ray transfer will be "better". The end sequence at the cottage was shot 35mm, so that should really "pop" much better now.

The main difference will be the sound. It's a great mix, and will sound all the better on blu-ray! That alone is why I'm rebuying.

28 weeks later should look great regardless. Beautifully shot film, and another top notch sound mix. Can't wait.

When I originally saw 28 days later, I felt jipped. Liked it was a crappy movie and it did not end very well.

However, when I watched it a couple times more, I liked it even better with each viewing. Now, it's an all time favorite. I have only seen 28 weeks later via download on the net. I could barely make out details. So, seeing it on Blu will be sweet!

28 Days Later is one of my favorites. I actually just recently lost the DVD.

its hard to explain it. its about a virus that infect people and make them have the hunger to consume others who haven't been infected yet/angry and can't control anger. they act like zombies, yet they aren't. i wonder what category would they fall under. It could be placed under a certain section of zombie, as according to the wiki

"Other more macabre versions of zombies have become a staple of modern horror fiction, where they are brought back from the dead by supernatural or scientific means, and eat the flesh (or the cerebral matter) of the living. They have very limited intelligence, and may not be under anyone's direct control. This type of zombie, often referred to as a Romero zombie for the filmmaker that defined the concept, is archetypal in modern media and culture."
