5- Phantasm IV: Oblivion (1998; still, a great movie)

One of the best sagas out there.

I have a picture of Angus Scrimm autographed by him, with a nice dedication. Terrific.

- Phantasm: Ravager

I and 2 are very much an Alien / Aliens situation. I love them both. But 2 is so much fun, I give it the edge. It's one of those movies I can watch anytime.

I initially didn't like 4, but it has grown on me over time. It's hampered by a low budget, but it has some interesting ideas. 3 is too silly for me.

Ravager is an embarrassment that should not have been made.

Those are fine if it's only 20 points per movie, but now we've got idiots making them with 100 points per movie for the sole purpose of dragging them out as long as possible, bollocks to that and screw those clowns, they'll get zero participation from me.

Anyway my ranking of the first 4, I haven't even bothered with Ravager and possibly may never do so:

Phantasm, the cheapness shows, but I love how mysterious it is and the new Atmos track really adds something to the atmosphere of this movie.
Phantasm III, a fun ride, but nothing special.
Phantasm IV, I liked it more the second time I watched it, but it’s still bad.

Phantasm V, I will never see this one again. I had such high expectations when I heard about a fifth movie and how it would be made in this era of technology.
In the end it was a huge let down, in my opinion. Nothing worked for it. The script, effects and pacing were all crap.
