Default LG Super Blu BH100 Firmware

I have the LG Super Blu BH100 player. Newer BLU movies will not play in this equipment and tonight, on the "Quantam of Solace" DVD, I was notifed where to go to download new firmware for my unit.

I have successfully downloaded from the LG USA site the latest firmware. The *.pdf instructions refer to *.ISO files from the download. There are NO *.ISO files in this zipped download. File extensions are *.bin and *.ROM. I burned these onto a DVD and attempted to upload them. The screen on the BH100 unit scrolled "Error".

Considering what I paid for this unit when purchased, this is ridiculous. Adding insult to injury is having to download files only to discover that they don't work.

Can anyone supply a solution?

Signed,

Frustrated (aka jcraig3)

I just recently contacted LG to get a firmware update after informing them that I could get "Doubt" or Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe" to play. They sent me the Feb 2009 firmware update and it still doesn't work.
I wonder what the next step is in getting some type of resolution to this issue.

When you download a firware, you typically unzip (extract) it, creating your .iso which is then burned as an image. Only that .iso, burned as an image, NOT data, will update the player's firmware.

I downloaded the file, from LG's Canadian website, and when I unzipped it to my desktop, there was an .iso file created. Depending on your burning software, it may be tricky to burn as an image, but just make sure you don't simply create a data cd. Also, some players are very picky and will only take the image on a cd, not a blank dvd. For argument's sake, use a cd.

Good luck!
