I would imagine so. It usually takes a while for new titles to be listed at BM. I would probably give it a few weeks.

Nice art but I can't justify myself buying it again as I already own Scorpion's previous release. I can't imagine this will look any better and it sounds like the alternate version won't be much different other than maybe the opening sequence in color. A great release though for those who don't have it yet. Frustrating for those that bought it previously. I wish there was a loyalty discount for those who bought previous editions of these discs to give some incentive to double-dip.

I still have the first version, which I paid over retail for at Diabolik when it was said they had the last few copies of this disc, which would never return. Then it returned. Then it got remastered and returned again. **** this film and the Olsen brothers! I only keep the one I have cuz it's my wife's favorite old-school slasher, she don't care about PQ so much so no more money from me.

Does anyone know if this edition is region free like the previous Scorpion editions?

I'll have to check my local FYE tomorrow. They usually get MVD label movies.

I might have to get this one since I do not have this movie in my collection. I remember seeing this one from the VHS years.

Missed the previous version that sold out and it's nice to see some of these titles get re-released.

The “Alternate” version on the MVD disc is the 2018 remaster from Scorpion with lossy audio, while the default version utilizes the older transfer with LPCM stereo.

Yes... That is disappointing
I just checked my disc, as you pointed out, the main feature is the old transfer. The new transfer is in the 'extras' section. It's got a lower bitrate than the old transfer and contains a lossy mono-track... I'll stick with the 2018 Scorpion release. It has high-bitrate video (~30mbs) of the remastered version and a lossless dts-hd ma version of the original mono. (as well as a 5.1 remix for those who wants it).

Why did MVD even bother reissuing this? Walt said his release sold poorly, something like only 1,200 copies. Disappointingly low numbers to be sure but, overall not too shabby. Still, odd choice for a re-release that now appears to be botched.

How did it sell poorly? Both the limited slip and retail release are sold out and you can't buy them anywhere.

How long on average do MVD titles come with a slip? Can I wait a couple months, or should I buy it right away if I want a slip?

Disappointing about this release. I was planning on picking it up because all I have is the old first Scorpion blu. Maybe when it's cheap....

If you have the 2018 re-release there's no reason to buy again (unless you just want the slick packaging).

Here's my comparison of the 2018 Disc versus both of the transfers on the new disc.
https://cinapse.co/the-house-on-soro...s-7216c4e4b530

But if you want the movie and don't already own it, I wouldn't dissuade you from picking it up. It's worth owning even if the transfer is not great.

You did a great job with the comparisons there. I also immediately thought the MVD's main presentation looked nothing at all like the 2018 Blu-ray when I watched it, but hadn't yet really compared them. It more resembles the older 2014 Scorpion & UK 88 Films Blu-ray transfers. I'll gladly hold onto the 2018 Scorpion release.

It definitely would have been better if MVD would have used the "Re-timed Pre-Credit Sequence" as the main feature encode.

The audio on the MVD is also unfortunately a slight downgrade, 16-bit vs. 24-bit.
