Default Necro bumping

Necro bumping was a term i was not familiar with. Apparently finding an old thread and adding my two cents, is a forum no no. Would it kill someone to delete old threads after a certain amount of time?

The moderator spanked me.

its so hard to find threads that are considered old because if the topic is still up for debate, why delete it???? it depeneds on what the thread is about, plus on what you brought to the thread. if it was just "lol" for something like that, doesnt bring anything new

That's weird, cuz if you don't do that, some gung-ho forum jockey will berate you for not using the search

It really depends on the TOPIC of the thread more than anything else. For stuff that's on BD movies or games, I think that's fine especially if you just discovered it. For tech help or advice, sure.

For OFF-Topic stuff or BD/AV technology threads that are only RELEVANT at the time of discussion, there really is no need to put your two cents in even if you're itching for it. For example, a thread about Paramount going HD-DVD exclusive. Yeah, THAT kinda thread.

See above. You gotta do some common sense and the search tools!

If you want to see a smooth way to necro-bump, check out the job I did in this thread (it was a year old, and people just carried on posting in it, as if it was a new thread.... it's had more posts since my bump than it had back when it was originally made).

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=48583

(Take note of the dates of posts 10 and 11).
