Default 'Insert a disc' message, please help

Hello!

I have a nice shiny Acer Aspire 8920g that works great in all areas except one....blu-ray.

I tried a few blu-ray discs for the first time the other day only to be met with the message ''Insert a disc - please insert a disc into drive G:''

Now I have the latest acer arcade deluxe version and even tried Powerdvd 8, which both give me similar messages. The drive in question is an Optiarc BD ROM BC-5500A ATA device that is currently ''working properly'' with the most up-to-date driver I can find. The drive plays CD/DVDs absolutely fine and I'm now lost as i'll have to send the whole laptop back to acer who will delight in charging me money if its a software problem So any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

If it helps, the driver version of the disc drive is 6.0.6001.18000

Acer Aspire 8920g
Intel core2 T9300
NVIDIA GF 9650MGS
Optiarc BD ROM BC-5500A ATA

Here it goes...

2.8 ghz AMD X2
nvidia 8600 GT
Sony optiarc BR-5100S
Power DVD 9 & Win DVD (XP & Vista 32-bit)

Worked great and everything played with Power DVD 9, next thing I know I place a BD in the drive and I get "please insert disk" when I double click the drive.

I have wiped my C: drive and reinstalled to Windows XP SP3 .NET 3.5. Now the best I get is Windows to install a CD/DVD ROM driver (5.1.2535.0 from 7/1/2001) for my Sony.

Best part is during all this I never had a single issue with DVDs or CDs. Anyone maybe willing to grab their driver and e-mail it to me or at least let me know what driver windows installs for your drive.
