HD-DUD folks over-emphasize the importance of amazon. The vast majority of people still buy in stores.

Link please. Or take a poll here - how many of us purchase our BRs online, and how many purchase them at a B&M. Of the 100 HD movies I own, I have maybe bought 2 or 3 at a B&M.

Of the 85 I own, I only ordered Rescue Me back when it came out from Amazon. Everything else I bought at either WallyWorld or BrandsMart...Best Buy & Circuit City if I can't specific titles I want or if I can get them to price match.

I just like being able to have it when they take my money. I hate to wait.

EDIT: Planet Earth & The Road Warrior were gifts from my mom, and I think she did get them online too.

I have 54 Blu-ray's and have only purchased one of them in a B&M. And I only did that to get the bonus Spider Man teaser disc from Best Buy.

B&M's aren't price competitive with etailers yet. It'll be a different story when they reach price parity.

I can't afford to buy it at the store. Between the discounts, and the fact I don't have to pay sales tax, Amazon is almost always where I buy from.

I have 36 movies and all but 2 were bought at Willow Video or Best Buy. Amazon.com won't send them to me across the border. Amazon.ca in Canada is a rip. A couple were bought at Walmart, gasp.

Out of the 50 Blu-ray Discs that I have purchased so far, 0 have been bought online and 50 were bought at brick and mortar stores.

I bought all mine from B&M stores. I used to go to Best Buy, but now I go to Fry's since they are about $5-10 cheaper. Depending on what we get at the Wal-Mart I work at I may pick up one or two there with my discount. Any titles I wanted to get I have had no trouble getting them at store's.

Granted I haven't shopped lately at a B&M for BRs, but last I checked they have a very limited selection. I don't see how people with a decent number of movies could not shop online. Just seems like most the stores have the same selection month after month.

I have purchased a few from Amazon and a few from other sources online and a few from stores, Target, Best Buy. There must be some people who buy from store, otherwise no on would carry BDs. Believe it or not, there are still a lot of people out there who refuse to order anything online, thinking their credit card number will be stolen. And there are the people who want it NOW.
