You have the Paramounts sales figures? Maybe Paramounts sales are 1:1

What you said makes no sense.
So if after their test stores, BB decided to go with just HD DVD, you would be okay with the correct? Or if BB online starts to rent to HD DVD then BR, you would be okay with BB going with just HD DVD in their stores, correct?

And just because there is more of a demand for BR, it doesn't mean there is not a demand for HD DVD and this decision will not effect many consumers.

BB should provide both formats, esp this early in the game.

Any store that only sells one or the other sucks in my opinion.

Default Rent

Foot Soldiers of the Blu Army: Blockbuster does in fact rent BD discs. You may need to call around and find the one in your area that is Blu. If you still have problems you can rent On-Line.

No matter what previous problems have been with Blockbuster, We must start renting now. Its cost effective to buying every release.

Now, if you must never step into a BlockBuster store for whatever silly reason, you can also show support at Netflix. Netflix is claiming it 50/50 at their website between the 2 formats.

You could also do both!!! I rented 3 today from blockbuster for the long weekend. Its cool people ask you about Blu-Ray and I can try and sell them on the World of Blu!! Its fun

Lets hit the rental segment, Blockbuster went EXCLUSIVE!!!

BB only rents HD movies in BLU-RAY. The rest of what you said is pointless!

Default Doing my small part to keep Blu where it belongs--ON TOP

I'm lucky, my local BB has in store rentals. A pretty good selection at that. I had been bugging them for 7 months to start. I also rent from BB online.

I found this to be interesting. I went to BB the other day and they have 2 posters that say "Blu-ray The future of HD media" at the front of the store and a big display in the corner with the BD new releases and another two sections in an isle of BD movies. When I brought my 5 BDs to the register, the cashier said how impressed she was with Blu-ray and that she was thinking of getting a player or a PS3. Aparrently Blockbuster had all their employees go to a workshop or training thing where they demonstrated Blu-ray and told them how to sell it. I thought that was pretty cool.

If HD had rented better than BD, then yes, Blockbuster supporting them would be fine. It would suck for me since I'd have to buy an HD player, but it would make business sense. But that's not the case. It's already been well over a year. We have enough statistics to see that BluRay is what people want.

And you don't seem to know much about the retail business if you think companies should carry more formats. Do you know how much of a waste that would be? Not only would your customers be confused every time they came in your store, but you'd probably go out of business.

No training. Some of them are still clueless as to what it is.

But there is a high percent of Blockbuster employees who are avid movie watchers. They are true film buffs and are very knowledgeable about home theatre and realize that BluRay is the best. Like I said before, I'm one of three employees who rent BluRay at my store. We all take movies seriously. One started out as HD because it was cheap, then just got a PS3 because he saw the writing on the wall.

Yes, in fact, this could be a developing problem. We will need to monitor it closely.

I have to drive a country mile to rent BD from the blockbuster in my area, even though I have one just four blocks from me. When I asked why they didn't carry them I was told that the Blu Ray thing was just a test for some areas, larger stores would carry it and smaller stores would not....

So, I drove the country mile just to check and see what they had in stock, nice little selection, but nothing to write home about. Now, I did not ask the question if I could rent from the "country mile" block buster and turn it in at my local blockbuster....that I may consider. If not, I'm not driving a country mile to rent a movie regardless of the format. All I can do is to continue to push my local store to get on the list of test spots....

Only a few of them do. The Blockbusters in my town have no HD DVD only Blu-Ray. The one that I frequent the most has four sections of shelf space dedicated to Blu-Ray. It looks like they have about 200 movies!

That should be stopping. They are not supposed to be doing that. 2 day rental???? My store is a 7 day rental for 4.99. Something doesn't seem right.

I've actually been renting BD's at Blockbuster, after like 2 years of not touching my Blockbuster member card, lol. I just prefer to buy for some reason, but I do want to show my support to Blockbuster.
