I don't see this as a sign that HBO is opening the floodgates for any other shows.

I'm supposing this is only being released on Blu solely because of the upcoming sequel show, and it will be hyped in advertisements on the commercial-included version of HBO Max when that new show airs.

Already have The Sopranos, and Band of Brothers. Now I just need those two on BD.

I think it has more to do with the fact that they just remastered the show in 4K when it didn't even have a HD master before.

And then again, they could have recently decided to remaster this particular show in HD simply because they knew of the upcoming sequel show. The earlier masters for the DVD's were so horrid, that premiering a new show and pushing the earlier series at the same time, and still using those old masters on HBO Max, would have had backlash.

Regardless, I would love other HBO shows to get the same treatment, not trying to be a downer.

I know this is not necessarily Sex and the City related. But I do hope this signifies WB/HBO's willingness to remaster and release older series on blu ray meaning we may FINALLY get word of an upcoming Six Feet Under release.

Agreed, it's pretty stupid that only Parker is on the packaging, outside and inside, when there were four women starring on the show. I wonder if HBO are emphasizing her presence on the set as part of some promotional agreement with the new series.

I wonder if the UK will get different art and possibly more standard packaging. If so, I'd probably go for that, assuming the UK gets a release.

This is an absolutely stunning set.
I can't wait to retire my POS boxset (the pink book) - its a travesty.

I'm glad the films are included as well, hopefully they issue the new series on Blu-ray eventually.

i really really hope spanish subtitles and spanish dub, is very weird that a huge famous show only ENGLISH SDH subtitles, previous ntsc dvds were english french and spanish all the way.

I watched the entire remastered series on HBO max. It's such a huge improvement in quality from the old DVDs. It's not perfect, but a gigantic improvement.
