I would say perhaps we are getting close since Mann's novel "Heat 2" finally debuts in early August so perhaps either Mann knows Heat will be released around that time on 4K and wants to capitalize on it, or the studio wants to release it to coincide with the novel's release.

Heat is one of my 10 favorite movies all time, I have 5 steelbooks? Maybe 4 the directors cut US was an amaray, the French one was a steel, any I want to see this in 4K but I’m nervous because M Mann just did a complete restoration on the blu-ray directors cut. They will probably just upscale that transfer but I hope I’m wrong.

No, not a sequel movie. It's a novel written by Michael Mann.

Still interesting and with Hollywood having run out of ideas and keep showing us the same movie or the 4th sequel of something, yes there are exceptions obviously but few and far between lately.
Boy am I excited to see the final Jurassic Park film

It will probably get made into a movie at some point.

The novel serves as both a prequel and a sequel to the movie. It was supposed to be out last year I believe, I think it was announced around 2019. Mann has said he would like to see it also turn into either another film or television series. You can pre-order the novel now, its due out August 9th.

Once they remake Heat with Jonah Hill and Liam Hemsworth, it'll become an endless franchise. First movie, rob a bank. Second movie, rob an evidence locker. Third movie, rob a battleship. Fourth movie, rob Fort Knox. Fifth movie, rob the space station.

Today I took the SKU number from the image that the OP listed out of curiosity to see what was in the BB system. A guy I know who works there said the 3-disc steelbook release was originally scheduled for a 8/31/21 release but as we all know, it never happened. I believe I had read that originally the Heat 2 novel was due out in September 2021 but was delayed so maybe with the novel finally announced for August 2022, an announcement for Heat 4K is literally just around the corner.
