The UK X-Men trilogy set is apparently missing:
![]() I'm shocked! This must me a first for Fox, leaving out features on a US release that are included on the UK version! ![]() Can any Americans with the US set please confirm that the Picture-in-Picture mode and In-Feature Photo Gallery are definitely NOT on the US version? Also are there any other differences that I'm not aware of? ![]() One last thing! Some of the other European versions (Dutch? French?) of the trilogy reportedly don't have DTS HD MA English audio, only DTS HD HR! Fox are so bloody weird! ![]() **Update!! The UK trilogy does appear to have D-Box motion codes according to the info on the back of the box for the UK version!!** Last edited by Kuros; 06-01-2009 at 10:32 AM. Reason: Added info on D-Box codes and bitrate differences. |

As a UK purchaser, the items you list as missing don't bother me one bit. I have no interest whatsoever in D-Box and never will do for that matter. That also goes for BD-Live and I can certainly live without digital copies.
For me it's all about the film. The extras are just that and I find that I don't always watch them, and for those that I do, I rarely go back again. I wish they would release just the film with no extras and save me a bit of cash in the process. |

I've been watching it on Amazon UK since it was released and its been at a steady £32.98, which after VAT is subtracted and S&H is added comes to £31.76. At the current exchange rate that's $50.41 shipped which is the cheapest I've seen so far.

![]() According to these reviews of the UK and US discs you're correct about the UK having more of the extra features in HD compared to the US!: UK: http://www.avforums.com/movies/index...diareview=9683 UK: http://www.dvdactive.com/reviews/dvd/x-men-trilogy.html US: http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/2110...tstand_se.html US: http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/2058/x2.html Where'd you hear about the supposed higher bitrate encodes on the UK X2 and X3? ![]() |
