This is one of my favorite shows on tv right now, and think its one of the manliest shows on tv currently...

So lets start thread by discussing favorite episode so far

I liked the Samurai vs Viking episode.

But I disagree with some of the methods that they use. Some of them they try to lean things in a certain direction, for example:

In the Samurai vs Viking episode they make the Samurai test the Katana against the Viking chainmail.

Ordinarily this might make sense, but that's exactly not what a Samurai is trained to do, they don't slash across your guts unless you're already down, they go for wrists, inside of elbows, underarms and necks, they don't flail against you until something works, they're methodical.

Plus the one judge/host/whatever they call him, had such a boner for the Vikings that it wasn't funny, saying that the double spear at 20 feet would be as good as a psychotically accurate bow and arrow at 40 feet. If you saw that episode you know what I'm talking about the Samurai guy shot both eyes out of the ballistics gel skull.

EDIT: They also leaned a bit too much in the favor of the Pirate in the Pirate vs Knight episode. I mean they proved that the gun of the Pirate wouldn't be able to make it through the Knight's Armour and yet they had over 100 kills due to the Pirate's gun? Sorry? If it can't make it through the Knight's armour how the hell did it rack up over 100 kills?

All-in-all though, it's a good show.

The only episode of this I've caught so far was the Ninja vs. Spartan. I enjoyed it thoroughly. I'd love to catch some of the others.

I think they should make the show like ancient warriors vs other ancient warriors in an elimination style figuring out who exactly would be the Deadliest Warrior.

I don't believe a Spartan can beat a ninja.

A ninja would drop him before a fight would even begun! Anyway I love this show but what other warriors are left to do another season? Will they pit winners against winners? Losers against losers? I don't don't believe the Mafia can beat Yakuza either. They're trained in the Martial Arts!

i love this show, only caught commercials for it but then when we were one vacation on weekend, there were like 4 on in a row @ like 9 @ night so me & the wife watched all of them.

i loved the one w/the samauri shooting the bow into the eyes of the enemy and the dr. saying that is something u'd feel before you died!!!

LOL, I thought about something similar to yours the other day. Watching the fight sequence between these two would end quick with a nice gun shot to the head. Wouldn't look good for ratings.

You're missing the point of the show then. The show is all about what would happen in a 1 on 1 confrontation. Not who would sneak up on who.

This show sounds awesome!!!! I'm a big history nut, and it sounds like the Anachronism Card Game! What channel is it on?

Why haven't they done the obvious yet: Pirates vs Ninjas?

On future fights, Knight vs Samurai would be interesting as they were similar historical warriors (Knight would win due to superior armor IMO). Plus, they need more Romans!

Its a pretty fun show... I too thought the Samurai should have beat the Viking...

I also thought the Yakuza would have beat out the Mafia.

I missed the Green Beret one, would have liked to see that.

I see History Channel is doing a rip off of it now, but theirs is with CGI dinosaurs.

It is on Spike TV. The show is amazing. I try to catch it every week. This past one with the Shaolin Monk against the Maori Warrior was pretty awesome, considering the Monk destroyed that Maori Warrior.

Then that proves my entire point.

If you ignore the tactics of one side and put them in a fight where they wouldn't have been engaged in in the first place, then the show is bias towards one side.

Even with them being bias towards the Viking, the Samurai still whupped him.

I think it is a good show. I was wondering how a second season would do. Maybe the winners of season one face off against each other. Maybe the viewers choose what they would like to see.
