Doesn't exist.. There are some that would site a movie like 28 days later as such, but they would be wrong. The flaws only become more apparent within the source (which is exactly how 28 Days was meant to look) because of the fact that the transfer is better.

Gulliver's Travels!! The Blu-Ray is heavily DNR'd, to the point that all the detail is gone. Plus, it's in the wrong aspect ratio! It's presented in a 1.85:1 ratio, when the original film was shot on standard academy ratio. See for yourself at DVDBeaver! (This is also the first public domain release on Blu-Ray.)
The standard DVD version put out by Hal Roach is still the best one. |

A sampling of First Look & Magnolia titles...
-Paris Je'taime -Priceless -Chocolate -District B13 The DVDs offer both English subtitles and English subtitles for the Deaf & Hard of Hearing. The Blu-ray Discs only offer English subtitles for the Deaf & Hard of Hearing. |

IMHO (talking video quality) Lara Croft,Tomb Raider looks no better than DVD.....maybe even a bit worse. The Aviator and Interview with the Vampire are right on the edge....marginally better than DVD. Stargate looks great on the exterior shots but iffy on the interiors.

That's not true. While most Blu-Rays are better than the standard DVD, not all of them are. I already mentioned the public domain BD of Gulliver's Travels by Koch Entertainment. (Beware any release by Koch.) It's been panned by every website dedicated to reviewing DVDs. The first release of The Fifth Element Blu was so sloppy that it was redone, too.
(Also, I prefer the older 1993 DVD of Disney's Sleeping Beauty to the new Blu-Ray version. The colors look garish in the BD, while they are more pleasing in the older DVD. But that's just my preference, while others may like the colors and correct aspect ratio of the new BD.) |
