Default Creature (1985) coming from Vinegar Syndrome

Quote:
Next up, the world Blu-ray premier of William Malone's gory outer space thriller, starring Klaus Kinski, CREATURE, which we've just restored in 4K from the original negative and are proud to present in both its theatrical cut as well as the alternate TITAN FIND version!

I've waited a long time to upgrade from that bargain bin DVD multipack with the incredibly dark VHS transfer. It'll be like switching dinner from pig crap to gourmet pork.

I'm really hoping they have some good interview extras. William Malone is a given. Would love to see Wendy Schaal, Diane Salinger and Marie Laurin.

Malone was behind a very limited release of his director's cut on DVD some years back. I remember it being only available shortly from DiabolikDVD, before it suddenly disappeared, and unfortunately I was too slow to pick it up.

Does anyone know whether the Titan Find version is identical to said director's cut?

if you like cheesy Alien rip-offs like Galaxy Of Terror and Forbidden World...

I saw it in the theater when it came out and loved it!

Thumbs up

I have a soft spot for this one. I convinced my mom to take me to see it, and we both got a kick out of the line that references The Thing.

Let's not pretend there's anything gourmet about Creature. But going from pig crap to hot dogs is still a big upgrade!

Visually a upgrade. Won't taste much different. Good call.

Same here, my dad took me to see this when it released. Creature was the 2nd film I saw in theaters, Ghostbusters being the first.

The Titan Find IS the director's cut.

Lacks the narration during the opening crawl, has "Titan Find" as the on-screen title instead of "Creature", the death sequences are a little more graphic and there's actually a sequence near the end that was cut out of the "Titan Find" cut and is only available on the "Creature" cut.

I'm sure there's more dialog bits too, but those are really the main things I can think of.

So the Creature cut actually includes a sequence not in the Titan Find cut?

Definitely excited about this one. One of the best Alien knock-off films of the 80's.

Not a great movie but fun and nostalgic. Back in the 80s as a kid I loved the vhs cover art on display at my local rental store. I'll definitely pick up the blu-ray.

Nice! I have one of those 5.99 dvds that has the Titan Find cut. This is an easy upgrade.

IIRC its a dialog exchange near the end of the film before the big climax goes down. Its in the Creature cut but not included in the Titan Find cut.
