Question Beowulf (2007)

Just wondering about these types of releases:
Apparently the transfer is stellar, but just a bit thin on extras.
Should I wait with these for like more expanded packages?
With more extras, perhaps even an extra disc and a nicer box.

Also, anyone familiar with this specific film:

It's called a 'Director's Cut', but without saying exactly what was added, how much has been added to the film?
Is it significant or not much, or just a marketing-title altogether?

Thanks.

P.S:
I love this film personally, so that's why I wonder if I should already get this.

One of my favorites too. If you like the movie, buy the Blu Ray. Not so much for the "Directors Cut" aspect, it's my understanding only a few minutes were added. I dont think it's that thin on extras either and what's there is all in HD. Buy it for the awesome movie it is and the fantastic PQ and AQ. You'll be wondering why you didn't pick it up long ago.

I've heard the PQ looks stunning but to be honest I've been holding off on this on blu since its release. I really want them to release the movie in the 3D format shown in the cinema as well as the other two versions all seamlessly branched which will happen I'm sure soon. We all know how studios can rip us off releasing another edition within two years of its original release and it's not as if the technology isn't there, we can have f***in' Hannah Montana in 3D but not beowulf??? I'd hold on for a while man rent it and wait to purchase inevitable 3D copy. Plus if they don't release the 3D in say a year and a half the price will drop dramatically then you could own for say 8 Euro or less

I would recommend it just on the grounds that it's a stunning quality blu-ray (especially the AQ, it's amazing). If you already love the film, then that's all the more reason that this is a must-have.

I just seriously LOLed! XD

But yeah, that's exactly what I'm wondering.
I have no doubt about the quality, the film looks amazing,
despite the blind complainers thinking it's an animated cartoon.
But the different versions that might be coming out indeed.
I really hope it would become the package you describe.
Would be a perfect film to see in 3D at home too.

Funny thing though, I saw this at a big cinema in DigitalHD right.
When you for example would have that moment where this happens:

But then from the view of Beowulf as if it's sticking in your own face...
Just because of the technology and the virtual-camera-angles, it already looks really 3D.
And I didn't even see the 3D-version, it was the "plain" version, but really sharp though.
Seriously one of the best films visually I've ever seen, especially in theaters.

This is also one of the first titles, if not the first title, I had in mind to buy in HD.
It didn't end up to be the first, but just to indicate how impressed I was.
This is probably a joke in SD...

Yeah, that's what I thought about the 'Director's Cut'-part.
Seeing the official review on this website, I can never really place the quite mediocre ratings on extras.
Even thought they describe a whole bunch of extras, and it indeed helps they're in HD too.

Well, I think I'll hold off for a little while, perhaps something's lurking in the near future.
If not I might just get it, it's not that expensive already.
Otherwise I can still sell it, nobody I know has much HD yet, let alone BD.
I could freak them out by showing them that movie.
