I wonder if the new Velvet Underground doc will get a release. I've been reading great reviews for it - might try to watch it this weekend.

It's disappointing that we still don't have Greyhound on disc, especially considering that movie's sound design.

Even Tom Hanks himself bemoaned that the movie was compromised by being only available on a streaming platform.

Considering Sony produced it, I would have expected a disc by now.

This is what’s frustrating about notable directors doing streaming originals: you end up with an incomplete collection of their films on your shelf. And then unless you have a good indie nearby, it’s impossible to catch on the big screen.

Especially when La Famille Bélier has a French Blu, and a UK DVD.

Israeli series Tehran is getting a UK Blu-ray in two weeks from Dazzler Media.

As the film features extensive use of ASL, English subtitles are fairly important for comprehending the film for most audiences.

Apple would be crazy not to release CODA sometime in the near future.

I think they'd have a big seller. Ditto The Tragedy of Macbeth.

Tomorrow War was distributed by Amazon Studios. A lot of Paramount content eventually gets a physical release, but sometimes isn't till a year after it's released on streaming. So that would be Summer at the earliest. A recent example of this is Without Remorse, which came out on Apri 30th, 2021 on Amazon, and is getting a BD release on May 3rd.

i think i'm the only one that's really hoping that Apple's Peanuts exclusive content (Snoopy in Space, The Snoopy Show, For Auld Lang Syne) eventually gets a DVD release, especially since Warners still own home video rights to Peanuts content

CODA has since been released on 4K UHD with English subtitles and some brief interviews as extras.

Are those English subtitles just for the sign language scenes? Or English subtitles for the entire film, including spoken English?

Obviously, any English subtitles are better than none, but lots of foreign discs for films that only need English subs for a portion (like The Pianist) only include English subs for the entire film, even if it's largely in spoken English.

There seems to be some confusion about whether Criterion is doing The Velvet Underground, Velvet Goldmine, or both. Unfortunately, the titles are confusingly similar.

Confirm that the main feature is English friendly. It has subtitles for both sign-language only and full SDH. Bonus materials are another story. All the interviews have hard-coded Italian subtitle and no English sub. Interviews with Daniel Durant and Troy Kotsur are in ASL and do not have English sub. Theatrical trailer is in Italian.
