Default Hdtv.?

Okay so I am going to pick up a new tv at the end of september because I need an hdtv for gaming (360). An halo 3 is coming out

I am without a doubt buying from costco and the 2 sets I am deciding on is the Samsung LN-T375H or the Vizio VU421080p

Does anyone here have any suggestion on which set to get, I realy like how the sammy is a 37 inch because I will be sitting about 6-7 feet away from the tv in a small room and i think a 37 would be better than the 42 inch Vizio.

Do you think the 1080p 42 inches has better PQ in HD than this sammy that is 720p?

Does this set (Samsung LN-T375H) have 1080i?

Are the response times or refresh times whatever you call it, better or worse on the Sammy than the vizio?

And are sammy's durable, I want a tv that will last at least 3-5 years

Go 1080p in the 32" to 40" range. Circuit City is running some deals now, you may be able to pick up an older model 1080p at a good price. I would definitley go Sony, my fav...

There is a huge difference between watching a Vizio or a Samsung tv. If you definitely narrowed it down between those two, then getting the Samsung should be a no-brainer.

The problem with Vizio, Westinghouse and similar budget LCD tv's is that images looked washed out on them. They have low contrast ration panels and that definitely affects the viewing experience. Samsung LCD's are superior to Vizio in every way.

Yea the contrast ratio on the samy is 8000:1 and the vizio is 1800:1

I saw pictures of the vizio and it had pretty good PQ In HD but I never saw it in person because when I went to costco they were running a SD feed to it.

I will have blu-ray and i want the best possible PQ in HD, I really dont care about any features like pip or anything like that.

but I dont think the sammy does 1080i, so wouldnt the PQ not even be that good compared to the Vizio?

I guess my highest price would be 1300. but I only want to buy from costco because if there is a problem i can return it within 90 days and dont have to deal with customer services from best buy or circuit city, plus costco has great prices.

I know I will get criticism from others for suggesting this tv, but I bought a 1080p version of this tv for my parents 2 months ago and Blu-ray's are amazing on it.

For some reason the Costco link doesn't work, but rest assured they sell this same exact tv. You can see it for yourself on their site.

This is a 42" Philips 720p/1080i LCD tv. At $1200 it is a steal. But if you really must have the 1080p version (most likely you won't be able to tell the difference) than for $300 more you can get this at BBY:

As I said before, Blu-ray's look flawless on it, and it is hundreds less than Samsung, Sony or Sharp. It beats the hell out of any budget set. Go check it out!!!

Yea I saw this tv when I was at costco 2 months ago. they had it hooked up to a sony blu-ray player but it was only showing demos so I dont think the PQ is the same as if they were showing an actual blu movie.

I thought the PQ was really good but it did have some grain, it was weird though because the philips is 42 inches and looked SOOOO much bigger than the 42 inch vizio VU.

but I dont think i should get it because my room is small and I will be sitting
6-8 feet away and i once bought a 56 inch rear projection and I seriously thought I was going to go blind so I had to return it.

But I dont know I'll look at it again the next time I go

Grain is something you'll have to get used to because every movie has at least a little. These is nothing anyone can do about it, it is the way directors intended to show certain scenes. Other times it has to do with dark scenes.
