Default Spaghetti Westerns LE - HELP!

I have been reading glowing/raving reviews of numerous Spaghetti Western LEs from Arrow/Eureka, etc. And now I see "vengeance trails' 50% off at amazon (which I think is the lowest price for this set).

There is also Sartana, Django, Ringo, Sabata.

Yikes!

I have never seen any of these, but I really enjoyed Eastwood "man with no name" trilogy.

Any thoughts if I would like these others? If I could only choose one set, which one is generally thought to the best?

Unfortunately, with LEs these could go OOP and for higher prices later, so would like to get these now, and would appreciate some guidance.

Thank you.

They are all great. Of all the sets, I'd pick Sartana. Then maybe Sartana, then Ringo. Django is really just the 1 film (the Texas Adios film that accompanies it in the LE is good, but not a real Django sequel).

I enjoyed them all. AND GOD SAID TO CAIN is probably a top ten Spaghetti Western for me.

Sure, but it's not a "series" like the others that all center around one character. You asked to choose one set, so that's what I did.

The Django 4k LE is beautiful... my favorite of the ones you mentioned. but if you're looking for more of a box set, then I am going to have to echo Bates_Motel, and suggest the Sartana Box. It's awesome! Vengeance Trails is also great, but I had the most fun with Sartana. And you are correct, these are great prices for these sets, the lowest I've seen them, except Sartana, unfortunately, that one seems to be the most expensive currently, I've seen it for less.

With fear of FOMO I'd lean towards the Django LE they had some legal trouble with Blue Underground so there was a feeding frenzy for that one for awhile. That might also be a good start to get into Spaghetti Westerns as Django is considered to be the biggest one in Europe since it spawned hundreds of in name only sequels. I'd rank the sets you listed as follows:
Django LE
Vengeance Trails
Santana
Ringo
Sabata

Hope this helps and more so I hope you are happy with whatever choice you make.

My advice would be to pick up THE BIG GUNDOWN with Lee Van Cleef first. That 4 disc set from Grindhouse was advertised as an LE back in 2013 when it was released I believe. Regardless, That movie easily rivals any of the three Eastwood movies you have seen.
Next I would recommend The Complete SARTANA (several years old also) Then the Vengeance Trails collection. Both SARTANA and the Vengeance collection have loads of extras and interviews that are entertaining and informative, especially for a new fan to the genre like yourself. It's too bad Klaus Kinski isn't around to do anything for CAIN, since he headlines the flick. Who knows what he would talk about but I'd still watch it. My next pick would be the 4K DJANGO release.
Then the SABATA trilogy and then the RINGO dbl feature.

I have no idea what your stance on streaming is, but Arrow's releases are available on their streaming service, and they offer a 7-day trial. They also are currently offering 50% off the first 3 months with code WATCHALONG (so just $2.49 a month). It obviously won't be good as any Blu-ray, but it could also save you at least $50 if you realize you don't actually care for the films all that much.

They have a whole section already for most of the titles:

https://www.arrow-player.com/arrow-essentials-western

Many are also streaming free w/ ads at Tubi (sourced directly from Arrow)

Thank you everyone for your suggestions!
Here is what I decided to do:
1) placed an order for Ringo and Sartana. On the way.
2) saving $ for Great Silence, Django and Big Gundown

Think I will skip Sabata and Vengeance trails for now. might get Eureka's Sabata trilogy if it goes on sale later..

Again, thank you all!

Those last 3 you mentioned (Silence, Django, & Gundown) are all top tier Spaghetti Westerns! All 3 among the very best ever maid. If you want to add one more cheaper one, Once Upon a Time in the West is a must own/watch for any fan of the genre. It's another Sergio Leone film. It is incredible, and can often be had for around $10, I've seen it for sub-$5 used. Have fun watching whatever you decide on. All of the films that have been discussed in this thread are outstanding.

The free trial is 30 days. Thanks for letting me know about the code. I was gonna sign up soon, after I finished my October horror month, but since there's a code, I signed up now.

Both Ringo and the Sartana set are pretty damn good. The Great Silence is an amazing film (the end will just blow you away), and I have heard much praise for The Big Gundown. I am not a huge Django fan but I can understand why its popular. The first Sabata film in the set was underwhelming for me, have yet to see the others.

I am feeling out of it as I have no idea what "LE" stands for.

yes. Unfortunately, nowadays one cannot simply wait for great sales for some of these classics as they can go OOP quickly - especially the Limited/Special edition ones. So greatly appreciate the guidance given here.

I would LOVE for OUATITW to have a 4K. Would not be expecting much from the audio, but I really love the film and the Fonda reveal is up there with Well in TM. There was a 4K restoration that was screened at Alamo Drafthouse, so always have me ear to the ground for a physical release
