I'm curious as to whether or not they fixed the audio dropouts in The Little Drummer Boy. I bought the original blu-ray set back in 2018 and loved it...except for the fact the the sound drops out intermittently during The Little Drummer Boy. All the other specials were fine. According to comment on Amazon, this was a widespread problem.

I kept my old DVD of Drummer Boy because it doesn't have the audio issues. If they were to fix that, then I'd be interested in buying the set again.

Forgot I ordered this. Came today from Amazon in an unpadded grey envelope. Shockingly no damage that I can see.

They look like DVD's. Round, but with a Blu-ray logo on them.

Haha...yes I guess I should have been more clear although I feel like it should have been easy to guess that I was asking about the PQ.

We all know what you meant. Unless your a die hard fan/collector I’d say it’s safe to stick with your DVD’s. Not that much of a major upgrade in PQ, I was very disappointed.

I'd say grab them for the price they are now. They ARE an upgrade from the DVDs. The ones from 2010 got decent reviews and the Universal release (this thread) improved on them again slightly in 2018. There are still issues with them with sound and cut-outs/wipes, but PQ wise they look the best they ever have. These still need a full restoration, but for $13 or so, I think you'd be happy with the upgrade for now.

CBS seems to be using the same version of Rudolph as the Blu. However, the frames in the end scene are intact. I wonder if the Blu had an encode glitch at that spot? It needs to be fixed.

I just picked up the 2018 rerelease. Does that release have missing frames? This is the first I'm hearing about this.

Yes. It occurs when Santa and the toys are lifting off after picking up the toys. Never occured before.
