Default Harry Potter pre-orders

Hi.

Does anyone know what the Harry Potter pre-orders on Amazon about...?
Are they re-releasing them?

What pre-orders? Link?

The new HP movie comes out in a few weeks, this could certainly be a re-release to tie in with the new flick. But I don't see these on Amazon.

Look in the home page (br.com) there are new pre-order with a date of July 7, 2009. I believe that they changed the cover art a bit, and I am not sure about the specs. I know that the original HP BDs have English PCM audio .

I posted the German version because the U.S. site does not show any coverart... It's probably going to be the same...

Whatever this new edition is, I'm not getting any of the Potter films on Blu-Ray until the entire series of them is done.

I already have most of them on DVD anyway, and I don't want to upgrade now only for there to be a big awesome box set of all of the movie down the road or something.

Ditto. I'll buy a mega box set for them all, but I'm not going to be tricked into double or triple dipping 8 separate movies!

My guess is they'll have Dolby TrueHD 5.1 like the newer 5 disc release.

It also apparently has movie cash for Half-Blood Prince.

Had friends over yesterday coincidentally to watch Order of the Phoenix. I bought the trunk set and happy I did because I've grown so stuck up about PQ these days . We also agreed this film wasn't as well done as the previous four. I blame the director. So if the Half-Blood Prince film doesn't entertain me as well either (same director as OotP), then I'll have an easier time holding out for the full movie collection after the last film is released because he's directing those as well.

Back to the OP, I agree with benricci. WB is timing it to coincide with the release of Prince.

I agree that OOTP is the worst HP movie thus far. However, the fifth book is (IMO) very lame. The entire book is about Cho grieving, meetings at Sirius' place, the mean lady at the school, ministry of magic denying the return of Voldermort and the crouchy elf. Nothing really happens until the end of the book and the movie was great in that long action sequence.

Actually, that was the first film not have Steve Kloves pen the script(he was part of the writers' strike). He came back for the remainder of the films, so that's more likely the problem. Just a bad script.

Some of us don't have HD audio receivers, and can only get PCM in 2 ch. That's why.

That's a very good point about Kloves. I guess I'll see come July 15th if it's the screenwriter or if it really is the director, thanks! However, me and my friends' tastes don't seem to mesh with the general audience. I looked up Order on Box Office Mojo, and we were shocked to learn that Order is the 2nd highest earner in the Harry Potter series so far.

I would rather WB stick with PCM for the remaining movies. Tru-HD sounds quiet and dull when compared to both PCM and DTS-HD.

I disagree, it comes down to the mix on the film. Try Dark Knight or Iron Man and tell me they are quiet and dull. Also, add Spider-man 3 as well.
