They keep skipping all the features from the big blu-ray set. Where's the Animatrix?!?

I hope this ends up being a nicer package than the last three film box set.

That Ultimate Matrix Collection DVD set is still the king in terms of packaging. Just recreate this.

Is it safe to assume that price will drop closer to $100?

It's Warner, so I'd be surprised if it's not twice that.

Undoubtedly it'll be less than $100, unless it has some ridiculous swag or something. The current trilogy set is around $50-$60, so if this is just a standard 4K/BD set, it'll be $80-$90.

I've never seen that. All the Matrix figurines are so bad. Would be nice if Iron Studios designed one. I might buy a Trinity.

In an ideal world this would also include The Animatrix, even if it were just included as a bonus Blu for completion's sake.

In reality though, I suspect this willbe a collection of 4 individual UHD cases, covering the standard released of the 4 live action films. Not expecting a separate special features disc for Resurrections either, considering present day Warner's aversion to special features for non-Nolan releases.

Don't worry, they will release another version with 10 minutes of additional "content" and lobby cards or some crap like that. And we will all buy it again.

The Animatrix is a digipaint/CG production, completely done on a DI and was transferred at probably 480p for the original DVD release, but they did make a 2K filmout (possibly sans the Final Flight short which is a 720p DI?) that was used for the small amount of various theatrical screenings Warner did back in 2003 that was reused for the HDDVD/BD release, i imagine a 4K scan of that filmout wouldn't yield much results and unless the DI still exists, they only do an upscale as the other option

In all seriousness, the plastic slide out tray structure of that set killed it for me. The standard edition had that nice slipcase with the reflective green code and the classy artwork on the individual digipaks. Good stuff.

I had the set with the bust. Cool piece but the plastic trays sucked. I think one of the plastic doors broke off of mine lol.

I wouldn’t mind an upscale if it’s the only option because it would still look even better than the blu ray and of course adding hdr and/or Dolby vision.
