Just from curiosity: why is Mill Creek so inferior with their Blu-Ray releases? I have both Quantum Leap and Knight Rider, and there's at least one disc scratched in my former set, because one episode skips. I can't take it back since the warranty expired, which means I'll have to repurchase it at some point.

huh MC so probably gonna be way more compressed than the UK set, so I'm fine I got the UK set a while back still (don't think it even cost any more either)

This is the biggest set they’ve ever put out. I wasn’t sure they’d do one this big, opens up the doors to shows like Bewitched, Murder She Wrote and Columbo.

You can sook all you want about them coming from Mill Creek, but I don’t see anyone else releasing them (especially Murder She Wrote given the failed UK and French releases)

There a big budget company and try to jam as many episodes on one discs as possible and could care less about quality of the title lol. I only bought community the shield and 70s show because they were the only one. UK is 37 discs and mill's is only 30 oh boy lol.

Not a fan of Mill Creek, but at least this one is getting released. Though I will wait for reviews first.

Would they have the rights to those two? I’ve been really disappointed there haven’t been any more MSW sets released, and I’m willing to buy the JP Columbo set eventually but a cheaper stateside version would be acceptable, as long as it didn’t look compressed to death.

I don’t see why not. They’ve released other Universal shows and both Fabulous Films and Elephant Films were able to license Murder She Wrote.

That may the highest Mill Creek MSRP I've ever seen. Want to see more episodes of this show but doubtful I'd watch the entire series.

I really enjoyed this series via the old DVD sets so I plan on upgrading. I wonder if they also have The A-Team.

One good thing about the this set is that it will have English subtitles.

Out of curiosity, how do you know that? The link in the OP says “subtitles none”.

The picture of the back cover is small but under Subtitles it clearly says English.

I know it's Mill Creek, so expectations must be tempered, but I'm definitely excited, and grateful, this is finally getting a domestic release! Also, nice cover choice along with the colors. I like that the French Croix (or Cross of Lorraine) is visible, which has a lot of symbolism in the early seasons of the show.

This was released region free in France by the label Elephant Films. Looks like that release had 31 discs, the U.K. release, which is region B locked, had 37 discs. Like others have said, here's to hoping for the best!

I know its Mill Creek and its likely will be more compressed than the French and UK sets but will have subtitles which they lack and Magnum is one of those shows that is not readily available on streaming services. I'll likely grab this down the road eventually. Hopefully, by then there will be some reviews and hopefully it will be more like Community than the shoddy Miami Vice and I can get it during one of Deep Discount's 15% off sales.

having bought more than a few 80s shows they're starting to remind me of that famous thomas wolfe quote. Of the dozens I've bought I think from the one I watched the most episodes, was like 5 episodes (knight rider), coudnt even finish half a season. I liked magnum but can't see me watching the entire series.
