Default Mars Attacks! (1996) 4K UHD

This underrated gem directed by Tim Burton deverses a new lease of life in the form of a 4K remaster.

The current master is extremely dated and doesn't to Burton's colorful visual style and Peter Suschitzky's cinematography justice.

Warner Bros. has done a great job on Beetlejuice, Batman (I'll agree that they should have included the original audio mix, though) and Batman Returns. So let's get to work!

As far as extras go, this doesn't strike me as the kind of movie the studio would be willing to produce new extras for, but they could at least include some of the EPK material and the 1996 making of produced for the Syfy channel (let's use those Universal connection, folks!).

An audio commentary by Tim Burton is a pipe dream (they didn't bother recording one for Beetlejuice, either).

Mars Attacks in 4K? This is definitely a classic. Hopefully we get it in Dolby Vision.

I actually do not own it yet (for whatever reason), but it does look pretty rough and would benefit from a new transfer. The question is will WB actually do it.

Pee-wee's Big Adventure came out around the same time on Blu-ray and I feel that would get a 4K release before Mars Attacks. If we do get it, then I think Mars Attacks has a pretty good chance.

I love the movie and think it is an underappreciated Burton movie, and my personal fav. I'd love a 4k version.

I too want this in UHD, and with some bonus features please.
DVD and Bluray releases were (pretty much) barebones.

Is there a greater crime in the world than Blu-ray.com having the Wishlist section on the front page, so every time someone posts it looks like an announcement thread that gets your hopes up? I don't think there is.
