I would like Gargoyles released on Blu Ray by wide retail along with Gummi Bears, DuckTales, TaleSpin, Darkwing Duck, Goof Troop, Bonkers, Aladdin The Animated Series, Shnookums and Meat, Timon & Pumbaa, Quack Pack and Mighty Ducks on Blu Ray by retail. Gargoyles is my most favorite show to be released on Blu Ray by wide retail so that I can enjoy watching Gargoyles remastered in HD on Blu-Ray.

That’s how it’s showing on Disney Movie Club’s website.

What happened to the yellow outlines? I thought this was a Disney Movie Club exclusive.

Curious-er and curious-er

The last item that had this much confusion was the Aladdin II/III release which was supposedly a timed exclusive getting a DMC lisiting 2-3 months then maybe a wide release which never happened.

They need to release it wide and fix the aspect ratio.

Invalid argument, if HD master is available on any platform whether it's Amazon, ITunes or D+, it's good to go for me. Disney owns it so they can use it.The existence of a series in HD gives us the possibility of having a bluray edition of the series because HD master was scanned once for streaming on D+, it can be re-scanned for a bluray edition.
I don't think Disney will invest in remastering series that were presented in SD on D+ like Gummi Bears or even Gargoyles, it will be very costly for them because the master is a worn out VHS-like SD tape. And just like the proud family DVD release that is coming out soon, if the series never got an HD remaster on D+, the only possibility for a physical release is DVD. Here's hoping we will get more DVD releases of series only available in SD on D+.

Aladdin 2/3 not getting one a uhd hdr and being in 4:3 is disappointing yes I might be asking to much for uhd blu ray upgrade but Aladdin 2/3 are supposed to be movies unlike the series which I’m upset still doesn’t have a release.

Was Rescue Rangers always in HD on Disney+ or did it change from SD to HD recently? If it changed, then that could suggest that with some of the other shows they might have HD masters as well that they just haven't bothered to scan for cost reasons.

Pretty sure that it was always in HD; it definitely wasn't a recent change, though. I suppose we can't rule out the possibility of them having HD materials of, say, Talespin that they simply haven't uploaded to Disney+, but then we're getting into the realm of speculation. We have no indication that the non-HD titles have unused HD masters sitting around, and I wouldn't assume otherwise without evidence.

Thanks. So which other 80s/90s Disney animated shows are currently in HD on Disney+?

Goof Troop, 101 Dalmations TV, Timon and Pumbaa, Winnie the Pooh TV, and The Little Mermaid TV; I think that's all of them.

Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers has been in HD and cropped to 16:9 on Disney + since the beginning. It has also been in HD on iTunes since around May 2016, but it is in the original 4:3 aspect ratio.
