I do hope that opens the doors for release of other Constantin titles that have extended versions still unreleased in HD: DER UNTERGANG or DIE PÄPSTIN, for example.

Haven't seen Die Päpstin, but Untergang would be very welcome for sure. Turbine already gave me one of my most anticipated German movie BDs last year with Bandits (though not too many seemed to care?). And while we're at it, but also not Constantin, Der Tunnel pleeeaaase anyone...

Don't get too excited about the extended cut. It only adds abouts 13 minutes of new footage which are mostly insignificant extensions of scenes already included in the theatrical cut. The rest of the longer running time are additional credits because the extended cut is presented as a two-parter and 8 minutes of scene-petetions at the beginning of part 2.

Anyone interested in this subject should avoid this silly film and seek out the movie "Stammheim", the West German prison where the B-M gang were imprisonned and also tried. It's an electrically charged film. Real edge of your seat stuff.
If anyone knows of an English-friendly release of Stammheim please let me know. Last edited by trobrianders; 05-02-2022 at 08:45 AM. |
