Small correction but only the first two episodes are up. While you’ll see the thumbnail for episode three it actually says coming this Friday.

And no I havent watched but I plan to once a few more episodes are available. It looked Interesting from the trailer.

So has anyone watch this yet? I think three episodes of it are up now. Just curious if it’s as good as the critics are saying it is

Sadly canned AppleTV last month, this is the first one of their shows that’s really grabbed my attention. I’ll wait till the series is out before signing back up.

I may check this out eventually. But man, most of Apple's content has no interest to me

For those on the fence, this show is fantastic! Easily the show I'm most excited to watch every week.

You might like it if you enjoy things like Lost. I mean it's very different, but the experience of watching it feels similar to me. It's odd and mysterious, the kind of puzzle of a show that gives you little clues and hints along the way about what might be going on, but those clues don't immediately make sense and serve to create more questions, which makes it even more fascinating. I don't know, I find it riveting. The cast is really good, too.

Is this kind of like inception with dreams within a dream and people can go inside there dreams and interact. But instead of dreams its memories? Split between workers i guess? I might have to watch a episode or two n find out.

Not exactly... It's more like the procedure separates you into two different consciousnesses: one that is always at work, and one that is never at work, and neither one knows anything about what the other is doing, because they don't have the other's memories.

Interesting

I certainly love LOST, and you comparing it to that makes me maybe wanna give it another try -

Because I started it when it launched and wasn’t hooked. I gave up after episode 2.

Now Lost hooked me (and everyone else) in in the first five minutes!!

Maybe it’s a slow-go to start?

I watched the first two episodes last night, and feel the same way. I'm just not sure if it's worth moving on. The show reminds me of Counterpart mixed with Eternal Sunshine, but without any of the character development (and with excessively long shots of employees walking through office labyrinths). I just don't care about any of these people at all. The core concept's a bit tough to swallow as well, as no sane person would undergo that treatment, and the business-cult is utterly absurd. Maybe that's the point, combining the willingness of some people to do anything for money with the desire to forget how awful they are, but it's a bit too ridiculously dystopian for me. It might have worked better as a single, hour long, Twilight Zone-ish show, rather than a series.

And what was the deal with the
[Show spoiler]finger traps and caricatures
? You'd need serious mental handicaps before you'd get excited about that at your job. I get that they're satirizing the infantilization of cubicle employees by corporations, but that bit of goofy humor felt out of place in the context of the show. It was more like something Roger Smith would do for one of his fake businesses in American Dad.

I hate-watched the rest of this seemingly 25-hour series tonight, and I despise all the characters even more. They're all just excessively terrible people. It felt like Lynch, but without the surreal, dreamscape that his stories possess, and I don't even like his work. There's no logic in this show whatsoever, and it kills any wonder I might have about the mystery of the cult. If I were any of these characters,
[Show spoiler]I'd have violently slit my wrists while hanging myself as soon as I realized there was no escape, leaving no chance at recovery. Their existence is that awful
.

Also, for anyone that recognized "Sierra", the worst minutes of Dollhouse dealt with this idea better than Severance.

I am SHOCKED that more people aren't talking about this show. Three episodes in, and I'm already hooked. I love the plot, the worldbuilding, the tone...man.

Vulture has been doing some good recaps: https://www.vulture.com/tv/severance/

And from those recaps, I discovered there's a short ebook that I'll most definitely read, maybe this weekend in preparation of the finale: https://books.apple.com/us/book/severance/id1613220757

Man, I would love it if my workplace has a music dance experience with light up ceiling walls and instruments.
