Better RoboCop: Robert Burke vs. Joel Kinnaman

Which actor was better as RoboCop? Burke wasn't as good as Peter Weller but I still liked him in the role. Kinnaman was ok.

RoboCop 3 felt watered down too much, even though I liked the more friendly tone compared to the earlier films. But in terms of overall characterization, I think Joel Kinnaman was given more to work with, so my vote goes to the 2014 film. Burke's not a bad actor, but I do think he was miscast for Murphy.

Joel Kinnaman. While he’s not close to Peter Weller in Robocop 1987 and Robocop 2, he much closer to that than he is to Robert John Burke in 3. But I do like Robert John Burke in some of his work outside of Robocop 3.

Robocop 2 would’ve actually gotten far better with age

[Show spoiler]if it wasn’t for the unnecessarily inhumane and savage death of Officer Duffy. I wouldn’t wish that on the worst human beings, let alone that fictional character, as much of a degenerate as he is.
