I have it in HD on Vudu, old master but it is HD.

The theatrical version is still available to buy on blu-ray for 10 dollars on a pressed disc so switching the release to a BD-R of the theatrical version makes absolutely no sense.

Makes zero sense, but multiple retailers have updated their listing, so it really doesn't look promising.

that would be ironic, and yet sadly far from unheard of, that you could get a bootleg of something in higher quality than any officially offered legit physical media

Was this cancelled? Amazon changed my order to the theatrical cut and it seems to be no longer available to pre-order anywhere.

No one knows what is actually happening. All retailers changed it from the Unrated advertised version to the R rated version. The people above your comment are in contact with people who may be able to explain it. Waiting for responses now.

I ended up ordering it from Bull Moose. Best Buy's description has it listed as the R rated cut.

I just cancelled my Best Buy order for this, and I'm sad about the situation.

Best Buy shows R rating, but 93 minute run time.
MovieZyng shows Unrated, but 91 minute run time.
Bullmoose shows Unrated, but does not show run time.

Bullmoose is legit. They have some physical stores in the NE and ship across the country. A lot of people like them because they ship on time and will have some of the lowest prices for boxsets when first released.

In this case, it may just be better to wait until it's known what is going on with the release. All the major retailers started with it listed as Unrated and then switched to Rated R. It's most likely that BM simply hasn't updated the image like everyone else and not that they will be the only ones with the Unrated version.

Didn't hear back from them but this was just updated on the website..

Time to cancel that order!!!
