Never seen it, but someone e-mailed me the bit on the Bugatti doing 407km on that VW track in Germany! I remember him saying that it covered the length of a football field in one second. Damn!

Cool show, try to watch it whenever it's on BBC America. I think I remember someone saying that DVD's are available on the Top Gear website.

Good show, and they do review some pretty high end cars. Watching one of them beat the crap out of a Bentley was priceless, he actually blew a tire from doing a smoke show with it.

I am from the UK and watch the show religiously. I tend to think it is less about cars and more about the presenters' own brand of comedy, but you do get to see some beautiful machines each week.

Personally, I loved the Veyron article and the recent Ferrari Daytona vs the Power Boat race from Italy to France. Oh and the Vietnam special.

I have recently purchased this: https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/movies.php?id=1726
It is also region free from what I can see.

Question: For the American's out there who have seen the episodes, how do you feel about the one described below?

"They have never been too fond of American cars on Top Gear, so maybe a trip from San Francisco to the Bonneville salt flats in Utah, driving American muscle cars will change their minds. James drives the Cadillac CTSV, Jeremy drives the Corvette ZR1 and Richard drives a Dodge Challenger, which he had to buy because Dodge wouldn't lend one to them, as they are always rude about their cars."

I would have just found another car, Dodges arent worth paying for anyway. that ZR1 was badass and so was that CTS-V.

I thought it was a pretty good episode. 3 nice red muscle cars burning their way to the salt flats, a couple run ins with the local law enforcement.

They do dog on american cars pretty bad, or americans in general. A new drinking game should be to take a shot everytime Jeremy calls americans fat.

My favorite of their american excursions was when they had to buy cars for under a grand in the slums of Miami. "So if I go one block that way, I'll be murdered?"

But you are right that it isn't so much about the cars, it is about the entertainment. I find the show a mix between Monster Garage, Mythbusters, the movie Road Trip and Jay Leno's Garage thrown in for the reviews.

I can't wait to play GT5 and take on the stig on their track. "Some say that his voice can only be heard by cats, and that he has two sets of knees..."
Stig-isms

I'm in the UK and if it's the one i'm thinking of it was f**king hilarious. (Hick town drive though with "I hate Nascar" written on the side of May's car?)

That's a different episode, the one I was describing. A road trip from Miami to New Orleans through the deep South.
