Then he also talks about blu-ray and hddvd being impractical for storage? Sure it is now, but in a few years it will be easier, faster, and more affordable to burn bd-r's. Imagine how much crap you can store with a 25-pack! (625gb) Then he talks about cost. Every new electronic product is costly at first. Sure Toshiba might reach $200 first, but that doesn't make it the best. A $400 Acer laptop does not beat a $700 Gateway laptop, a $500 32" LCD is not better than a 32" Samsung, etc. In conclusion, this guy is an impatient moron! Blu-ray and hddvd are still in their infancy and it will be many years before any will challenge its dvd counterpart. |

I like this little blurb...
"you’ll realize all it is doing is ensuring HD-DVD doesn’t win either" Like this small segment is enough to try to convince others that he is not pro HD-DVD, and give him the credibility he thinks he deserves. ![]() |

I don't care if people use the PS3 as a blu-ray player, fact of the matter is, where are people big screen HDTV's? Presumably in the living room or basement probably. Why not use the PS3 as a blu-ray player. Everyone can uses their PS2 or Xbox's for DVD players and have for years. I guarantee the DVD industry has never argued that fact nore complained

so i took the bait and emailed the tard. BTW i got a auto reply back that said he's out of his office...we should really flood it. I would love to see his face when he came back into the office and see's the ungodly number of emails people have sent.
here's what I wrote So after reading your article it has raised a few questions for me. 1. How much research had you done prior to the IFA in Europe (as i am assuming you wrote this article before then) before you saw 7 companies release blu-ray players, two of which are WELL KNOWN TO HAVE LOW COST dvd players. The funny thing is that $200 HD-DVD player you've referred to, Walmart (a company well known for giving consumers the best price possible) isn't even picking up because even they know the quality of the player is Garbage. 2. Where you aware that HD-DVD disc are very faulty as many consumers have already reported their discs are starting to bubble or fog up?! Blu-ray disc are far more reliable. One of many reasons that Blockbuster has decided to adopt blu-ray exclusively in stores. 3. Where is this sharp decline you're talking about since Paramount?! On August 28th, the week when there no blu-ray releases, blu-ray actually was on par with people who were buying HD-DVD's which had 4 releases that week. You talk US or international, blu is outselling 2-1. I guarantee the DVD industry has never argued that fact nor complained. Yes there are ways to up-convert your current DVD's, but none of them look near as good as the high def does. Not only that, but no where in your article did you mention the audio. Even on standard cable, you can switch between analog and high def and clearly hear the audio difference. I think its fair to say that most people have heard of the audio codec DTS. Well guess who's on that boat? FOX...oh yeah their blu exclusive. 4. Lets be reasonable. Its probably safe to assume that people want to be able to use this with their kids too. Ok HD got Dreamworks for 18 months. They get shrek the third? What a terrible movie that was. The first two were good but the third...TERRIBLE! Disney however has announced 30 more titles for this holiday season. Two of which were HUGE in both dvd sales and in the box office. Ratatouie and Finding Nemo. It sounds to me that your very impatient, but it seems to me it took DVD years to finally take to people. Not only that, what was the cost when they first came out. Granted they had no major competitor but still, they did start in the upper $100's to $1000 range |
