Man have I been out of the pop-culture loop, the last month or so. I didn't even know they finished making the new Batman film yet.

Wednesday with the 1 showing seems to have sold out, but Thursday surprisingly has quite a few open seats.

A conservative guess I'd go with is around 100 million while my more bolder choice would definitely go for the 150 million mark. Either way you slice it, this mother is gonna be BIG.

The sheer length might curtail the box office somewhat, but this will still do between $125 and $150 million.

See what happens when you don't release a movie simultaneously on HBO Max, WB...?

I think it's gonna make exactly $5 because DC films are boring and stinky. What a disaster! DC need a Feige-like figure in order to right the ship and ensure that all their filmmakers are kept on a leash.

Non-Batman observation - all the holdovers (Uncharted, Spidey, Dog, even Death On The Nile) had excellent drops last weekend. An indication that older age groups are gradually becoming more comfortable with going back to the movies?

Cute but also factual, if one wants to build a successful "cinematic universe".

The biggest opening weekend of all time belongs to a 3-hour film.

Running behind the last two Nolan Batflicks.

The Batman Thursday previews are ahead of such DC fare as Justice League ($13M) and Wonder Woman ($11M), but below The Dark Knight ($18.5M), The Dark Knight Rises ($30.6M) and Batman v. Superman ($27.7M).

That $21.6M includes $4M from Tuesday and Wednesday...so the true Thursday after 3pm preview number is $17.6M.

Yes, but those numbers are awfully low for a big film such as this. It's going to need a lot of dough at the box office to recoup and make money. The opening weekend tends to be the best and sometimes only shot at doing it, it seems. Not looking good. I hope I am wrong though. As this movie does look good.

That was a pop culture candy fest for the eyes though. Something everyone can see. This is a dour detective noir that no one under 13 should see. So it's really going to hurt itself, a little. it does look good though. I hope I can see it this weekend.

Titanic was a laugh riot.
